Can a loving God ever hate?

Read Luke 14:25-26 before you answer

God teaches us to love the sinner, but, to hate the sin. God Hates sin he detests sin any sin.

Can he hate people? No. Can he hate things done? That is difficult to say. Certainly he doesn't like somethings we do but hate is such a strong and damning word that I don't think that he can apply it to actions or objects. I think that perhaps he, seeing into our hearts, understands why evil actions occur and that he may not elevate his concern to the level of "hate." Perhaps the problem with the question is a need to better clarify the question. I didn't read your quotation and I doubt that it would affect my answer. A single quotation out of the many possible quotations would tend to bias the answer. Also, I suspect that you already have the answer to your question and you are not particularly interested in ours.

Nothing happens without God's approval. God does not hate any of his creations and their outcomes. If God hates any of his creation or any outcome of his creation he is not only an imperfect creator, he is a lunatic who does not know what he is getting into. Obviously, God is perfect and he see every outcome.
God makes no accident. Now this is hard for most of you to stomach. God hates nothing he has created or its outcome.

He has allowed evil to exist and he has a Holy purpose for this.
Only through evil can you experience the Goodness of God.
Knowledge of evil will only allow you to know his Goodness and that is not good enough for God as it is incomplete. He prefers the experience of the Goodness of the Supreme GodHead.

Jesus insisted that the highest goal for everyone is to love God by loving your neighbor to the extent you love yourself. This is the highest and the grandest action you can do in your life. This is supreme and overrides any other apparent contradictions like those mentioned in Luke 14:25-26

If I have to make any sense between Luke 14:25-26 and Jesus's highest message is that you may reject wrong teaching coming from your father, mother, sister and so forth

By rejecting wrong message of your father and mother and accepting a higher truth is like being "born again" This was the path taken by Moses who discarded his Egyptian values and then accepting a higher truth or calling.

God's love for each of us is unconditional. If you don't like something turn away from it or reject it. If that happens God has just presented you an opportunity to define who you are. Self-definition is the only purpose of life. Bless that God given opportunity.

When God says something is an abomination to him he is saying that he hates that thing.

God applies the word abomination to individual persons and groups of people.

The idea that God loves everyone but hates what they do is not biblical.  It's "Peter Pannish" but not biblical.

We all want to believe that God is some all loving entity that looks down on us and thinks "poor, poor baby you just don't know what you're doing by killing all those people and molesting those children."  Yeah right.

God knows that you know exactly what you are doing at times and are perfectly and wickedly aware of the evil that you are doing.  Yes you are an abomination to God and he hates you for this.

“There shall not be found among you anyone who burns his son or his daughter as an offering, anyone who practices divination or tells fortunes or interprets omens, or a sorcerer or a charmer or a medium or a necromancer or one who inquires of the dead, for whoever does these things is an abomination to the Lord. And because of these abominations the Lord your God is driving them out before you.”

I came to comment on God hating sin. I believe that God is a jealous God as well, So don't you think that He would also not only hate the sin of going after other things, but also the things that people turn away after?

I'd also like to comment that it is the Father's desire that all men would come to be saved. 2 Peter 3:9 meaning He love's them all.. "For God so loved the World" right...John 3:16
