   If you were an alien race, how might you look at Earth?
   
   Let me give you some possibilities (although you're not limited to these): 1) A rock with an aggressive, dominant, and suicidal species. 2) A great planet with many resources and no capability of adequate defense. 3) A strange world with people you'd like to talk to about joining some larger group.

   Dear Queen of the Lint,
   
   It's a thought experiment, if you will. Try to look at humanity, as a whole, in the context of our environment, through an outsider’s, (or objective, sort of,), lens. Yes, you would use a telescope to see us, Queen of the Lint, but what would be your criteria, analysis, and conclusions? I’ve got a point to make hidden in this question. It’s about thinking about the future, to prepare for climate change that seems to be occurring, wars, and cultural trends. Make up whatever criteria you want, but keep in mind an alien would see us as one species of one planet with many other life-forms—some almost as intelligent (if not more, in some instances, like whales). Basically, I love science fiction, so these are the kind of questions I like to ask. It’s not a trick, but a treat.

   A water-rich planet, with a wide array of microbial life, as well as a race of carbon-based hairless monkeys. Interstellar bookies give these hairless monkeys even odds on advancement vs. self destruction.

   There are a variety of aliens out there. Some are highly evolved beings. I am speaking not only of their technological achievements, but there are also spiritually evolved far beyond our standards. These group of aliens have the capability to observe us in the past and even now from where they are.
   
   They have noticed that we are spiritually and technologically primitive. We are still burning fossil fuels and destroying our planet.
   
   Spiritually they know we are backwards, we spent so much money in weapons. If we have used that money for peaceful uses it could have wiped all our problems facing mankind including world hunger. About 40 thousand people die everyday because of hunger. In the US alone they have noticed that there has to be a debate for universal health coverage. The fact the we need to debate is obscene to them. Not to mention even after the debate not every human is covered.
   
   Though we are not the most primitive beings in the universe, they have noticed we belong to the primitive half of the beings now in the universe.
   
   They are watching us right now!

   I agree with Jerry Seinfeild. Basically, If I visit another planet and see two members of two different species in some kind of symbiotic relationship - say humans and dogs here on Earth - taking a leisurely and one creature was in front, and another right behind carrying the first species excrement in a plastic bag, who are you going to think is in charge?
   
   If Aliens come, they will think dogs own us.

   If liquid water is a rare occurrence in the galaxy,  as some believe, then I may look upon the earth with.....lust!
   If my intentions were to seek peaceful relations then I may look upon the earth with......fear!

   A living planet that has a virus. The planet seems to have a fever, though, so the virus should be burned up. If it isn't completely eliminated then the remaining virus should become acclimated to the new conditions and cease it's destructive nature.

    I highly suggest watching the cult classic cartoon, from 1973, Fantastic Plant.

    The film depicts a future in which human beings, known as "Oms" (a word play on the French-language word hommes, meaning men), have been brought by the giant Draags to the Draags' home planet, where they are kept as pets (with collars). The Draags are an alien race which is humanoid in shape but a hundred times larger than humans, with blue skin, fan-like earlobes and huge, protruding red eyes. The Draags also live much longer than human beings – one Draag week equals a human year. Some Oms are domesticated as pets, but others run wild, and are periodically exterminated. The Draags' treatment of the Oms is ironically contrasted with their high level of technological and spiritual development.
    
    The movie itself has left an impression on me, and I highly recommend it to anyone with a somewhat open mind.

    I am an alien. I find earthlings (humans) disgusting and ignorant fools. Once they are aware of my existence, half of them (Christians) will kill themselves. God made man unto his own image? Ha, then why am I here? Silly humans...

    I would look at the planet as beautiful. So many different forms of life, I find that interesting. A wealth of natural resources.  However since that planet has so many aggressive, dominant and suicidal species, I would, want to help to the best of my capicity then move on.
