   Yes the craft is real, I both believe and practice it. but I have never done anything negative with it. I am a solitare witch/wiccan and I believe in the 3 folds law, which is whatever you send out comes back to you 3 times good or 3 times bad depending on what you sent. We also belive in the HARM NONE law!

   MODERN-DAY witchcraft is hard to define. This is because those who practice it vary so greatly. They recognize no central authority or doctrine or holy book to unify belief. They also differ in tradition, organization, ritual, and opinion as to what gods to honor. Remarks one writer: "The occult world offers to the individual a 'free marketplace' of ideas." Says another: "Most Neo-Pagans disagree on almost everything."

   It is a loaded question and i will try to give a brief answer.
   
   It is a known fact that our earth contains 2 dimensions, the one you see and the one you do not see, unless you have disciplined your live and refrained from certain foods and activities.
   
   Now, it is possible to have and acquire knowledge of herbs and incantations and when applied properly, can get very real results. But be careful what you wish for.
   
   Yes, the occult world is open to all and what you get out of it depends on how good you follow the rules of nature. Some might call it witchcraft, voodoo, satanism, Santeria etc but they all try to draw power from the same source "NATURE"
   
   But do remember that the true powerful ones in any of the dark acts are very few indeed. 97% of practitioners have no power or clue and just prey on innocent people looking for quick solutions to problems that are clearly self inflicted.
   
   If you so desire, you can get natural powers, but people will fear and might run from you because once in, you become different.

   Well - let's just say while I don't live in fear of Witchcraft or the practitioners thereof, but I won't say it can't possibly work, nor would I want to anger someone who has knowledge of such arts.
   
   Forces beyond our sight may very well exist - and I'd like to stay on the good side of said forces and those who see and have some manner of control over them.

   No, I don't believe in witchcraft. I believe in reason and logic, and the belief in things like witchcraft is, in my opinion, not based in either. Might as well believe in elves and goblins and fairies and little pink unicorns that live at the bottom of wells, but disappear as soon as you look.

   nope - not real, certainly no evidence it is effective - unfortunately thousands of women [and men] have been murdered by the ignorant or the overzealous  over the centuries
   
   one of the best analyses of witchcraft and the religious and political issues associated w it is Aldous Huxley's The Devils of Loudon  [very good movie version also, by Ken Russell]
   
   i've got no problem with wiccans as a religious group; my objections come only  when spells are sold as an alternative to real medicine.
   
   like others, i dont say it can't possibly work - just that to date, there's no reliable evidence for it

   No.  I've never seen any evidence that supernatural effects of any sort actually exist--despite a very evident human tendency (perhaps "desire" would be a better word) to believe that they do.

    I don't know if it is real but there are certainly folks around south Louisiana who firmly believe that one can accomplish quite a bit with a voo-doo doll and a few straight pins. You know, they say "seeing is believing" so I have to think that these folks have seen something to confirm that there is something going on there. I'm not messing with 'em! WB

    yes i truly belive in it. It can be either white or black majic. I dont practice it but greatly belive in the holly death. She's one of my saints and has greatly helped me with past issues. Theres alot of bad people that enjoy harming others. Witch craft does exist, & unfortunately it is also very effective.

    I view witch craft like, in most part, like I do magicians... To some extent magic can be real, but mostly it is just smoke and mirrors. The biggest negative is when people do not follow guidelines, such as set in the Wiccan religion, and make live sacrafices and try to conjure up demons and make the issue dangerous. To me, if witchcraft makes life more interesting for you, go for it and be safe... But don't rely on the craft for medical purposes... Believe and when you don't get better go to the doc! I'm sure most people would agree to that. It doesn't make you any less of a true believer if you go to the doc.

    Yes, with all my heart. I've been a practising witch for the past 18 years, since I was 15 and feel that this is what I was meant to be. The universe does provide if you are willing to do your part. The rituals do help me enormously and I do feel like my practice of the craft brings me real results.
    Witchcraft is an old belief, it is a pagan form of worship that arose long before the birth of Christ. Don't pay attention to people who call us demon worshipers or Satan's followers, these are Christian beliefs that arose long after the old ways that we follow. I mainly use the Greco-Roman Pantheon as my focal point, and these deities are thousands of years old. Christ on the other hand is only 2 thousand years old.
    Witchcraft can be seen in the light of using the universe, the environment to heal yourself. A witch goes out into nature and finds healing and comfort from the plants and animals around her. The practice of the craft can come from something as simple as picking fresh produce in your garden and making a soup with intent and purpose.

    There are systems of magic employed by magicians that draw on fictitious archetypes. Stories that people believe have no basis in reality. Take Lovecraft's Cthulhu mythos for example, or Simon's Necronomicon. Many may argue that these archetypes produce no efficacy at all based on their origins being rooted outside of a logical reality. I would tend to argue that belief in the variables or the work itself is not necessarily required to produce a positive, efficacious result.
    
    People in general search for labels to categorize thoughts and ideas. It provides them with the means to cast judgment in advance. This is what is happening when someone decides that an idea not rooted in concreteness is one unworthy of pursuit.
    
    Somewhere I recently read that faith is belief in something in which one possesses no knowledge. From that standpoint, I don't believe in Witchcraft, but I practice it.

    Yes, I do believe in witchcraft. I've practiced for many years and it has been of service to me as much as I've been of service to the gods.
    
    The thing a lot of people fail to realize is that witchcraft isn't some kind of cure-all, but provides extra energy a place to manifest on the astral plane so that it may aid work on the physical.

    Yes I am a Witch and for all of you that said that they don’t believe in it or that it is Satanism are wrong! satan is a christian god we Witches have not devil or devils in the old religion and Witchcraft is the oldest religion and culture in the world the facts of history, anthropology and archaeology! But Voodoo and Witchcraft are not the same religion and culture Witchcraft comes from western Europe and Voodoo is another story to long to say now.
    Witches worshop the Goddess earth mother and the Horn father God (NOT THE DEVIL) the old father God of the Witches was truned in to the new chisten devil god of there religion. And do not try to deagree with me the facts of history, anthropology and archaeology stand strong and I do not wish to hear chisten bull s**t thank you!

    After reading all the answers to this question there is one very prevelent note that rings out from many of the answers. It is that Witchcraft is viewed as it is showen in the movies and on television. I must say that what we Witches do has nothing to do with what you see in the entertainment industry. First and foremost we are human. We have a belief system that presents a Goddess and God harmoniously with the universe. We cannot start fires with our glances and we cannot shoot sparks from our finger tips. That is pure fantasy. What we can do is delve into our inner selves and find our gifts within and use those for positve means. Most Witches have some psychic ability whether it be dreaming, intuitive, spiritual medium etc. But we are not what the media has painted us to be. They have unfortunatly got it very wrong, but that's entertainment. As for the effective value of Witchcraft, yes, is works. It takes practice like everything else in the world to become good at it but the strength and the resolve that comes from a good spell casting can leave you with a new grown part of yourself. That satifaction breeds positve energy within you and you pass that along and the law of three fold returns that positve enrgy to you in triple the amount. Look at it like this, when you smile at someone and aknowledge them that person may in turn hold the door open for you. Get it??? That is the simple of the law of three fold. Yes, it is effective!!!

    From what I have done throughout the 11 years I studied and practiced it all, I will undeniably say that witchcraft is very real, and if you are dedicated at the moment, works undeniably.
    I will say that modern-day witchcraft is very different, than the ancient. Ancient witchcraft is easier to understand. Technology compromises our imagination and sometimes our capabilities to direct certain energies through the loss of focus and hopes for something unrealistic.
    
    Remember that not all people who study magic or witchcraft will worship the same deities.
