Faith--Not Emotion | Living by Faith, Not By Sight

Walking by Faith
Walking by Faith

God has been revealing me so much in the recent days about faith. The past year or so I've been really down on my self because I feel "spiritually dry". Almost two years ago, God really impacted me during a prayer night at my church. Things were revealed to me, direction, and vision was given to me from God and so many other things....So this past year I've been trying to get back to that place where I felt God's presence so overwhelmingly, but I haven't been able to.

But the other day I read a devotional from Oswald Chambers, and God really spoke to me...I wasn't living to get close to God...I was living for these "exceptional moments".

I was forgetting 2 Corinthians 5:7

"We walk by faith, not by sight" —2 Corinthians 5:7

Those amazing moments when God overwhelms us are awesome...but they are blessings...surprises...gifts..but not something we should become dependent on...because they are "sight". God has called us to walk by faith, not by sight. Those moments are an emotion...so we cannot rely upon them. We need to rely on God Himself.

You are "spot on." God desires us to live intimately with him, not for what he gives us, but that we simply trust him.
