Faithfulness to God

Updated on August 17, 2014

Find Us Faithful

There is One who offers His love that never fails, never dies or loses its power to move on a heart. In this lesson we will focus on the unfailing love of God, its power to forgive and to change our lives as we draw closer to the Lord through faithfulness.

It is our faithfulness to God that allows Him to work mightily in our lives. Is our life leading others to the Lord? Are those who come behind us finding us faithful to the point that it inspires them to obey and seek Jesus?

When we choose to live a life faithful to the Lord, it does not go unnoticed by God. Scripture promises that God is not unjust to forget your work and labor of love, which you have shown toward. Him." (Hebrews 6:10a)

Do not be discouraged in doing the Lord's work. In due season you will be rewarded. It's God's promise.

Leaders of Light

Scripture Reading: Job 22:28

If you are born again, you have the Light of God, which is Jesus, in you. Once your candle, your spirit man, is lit with the Spirit of Truth, you become a Child of Light. You are then reborn in Christ for a reason, and that is to be a leader and to lead others to Jesus.

How bright of a light are you? Are people drawn to you? A bug is drawn to a "bug" light, but it is a false light, which leads to death. Satan has no light in him, but people are still drawn to the false light. It is our job to bring the true light to people. Are you hungry enough for God to use you to draw others to Him?

As you seek Him, He will give you direction and light your way to show you how to lead others to Him. Be the child of light God has made you to be, by leading people to the Light, Jesus.

"You will declare a thing and it will be established for you;
so light will shine on your ways." (Job 22:28)

Satisfied with Dissatisfaction

Scripture Reading: Philippians 3:14

Are you dissatisfied with your present satisfaction? Sound confusing? Let me put it to you this way. Are you settling for less, or are you still seeking a higher ground?

Many times we grow weary and begin to feel that things will never be different, so we might as well make the best of things. This is where we sometimes fail to remain faithful to the call of God on our lives. But friend, God never told us to settle for the things of this world, but to seek a higher goal and calling.

Settling for the present isn't seeking God's best. No matter what things look like here on earth, remember God knows your situation and will see you through the rough times. Pray "Lord lift me up, plant my feet on higher ground!"

"I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."

Who Are You Listening to?

Scripture Reading: Psalm 1:1

Whenever we are going through something new, we tend to ask people for their advice, because it seems like a natural thing to do. After all, they've already been through the same thing, right? However, if you ask the wrong people for their advice, you're situation could turn out differently than you expected.

The Bible tells us to seek godly counsel and not seek the world for advice. You want to be blessed in making the right decisions, but you cannot remain faithful to God if you don't know what godly decisions to make. The world cannot give the counsel of God or see His vision for you. The world doesn't operate like God.

Before you run to your neighbor, acquaintance or even family, ask God from whom He would have you seek counsel. He will lead you into all righteousness.

"Blessed is the man who walks not in the counsel of the ungodly (wicked)."
Psalm 1:1 (also read verses 1-6)

Rescue the Perishing

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 10:22-23, 11:6; James 4:8a

Do you remember a young man named Joseph? About everything you could imagine was going wrong in his life. He was sold into slavery twice, accused of rape, sent to prison and left for dead. In all this, Joseph had remembered one thing, God loved him. God never forgot about Joseph, because he held fast to his faith in the God of the impossible.

"Let us draw near with a true heart with full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled from an evil conscience, and our bodies washed with pure water. Let us hold fast the profession of our faith without wavering; (for He is faithful that promised)." (Hebrews 10:22-23 KJV)

Because Joseph remembered God, God remembered him and rescued a man who would have perished. God took him out of the impossible situation and made Joseph a great leader. Joseph pleased God with his faith in God to deliver him out of any situation, no matter how bad things looked or how long it took.

"But without faith it is impossible to please God (Him); for he that
comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of
them that diligently seek Him." (Hebrew 11:6)

God will do it for you too, if you remember to call on him as Joseph did. God cares about every aspect of your life and wants to hear from you. Believe God and that He wants to help you. Call on Him; draw near to Him and He will come.

"Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you." (James 4:8a)

Promotion Comes from God

Scripture Reading: Hebrews 6:9-19

Most people look for a job that can give them fulfillment. They look for benefits and a way to get ahead. These things usually come with promotion and lead to higher pay. As Christians, we need to remember that all promotion comes from the Lord. God gives us wisdom for gaining a promotion so that we find the favor of man. Man is just a vessel for God to use to give us that favor.

If you are seeking a promotion from man, you need to be a willing vessel for God first. In prayer, ask God to put you into the position you need in order to receive the promotion you want. What does He need you to do for Him, and where does God need for you to be at this point in your life. He can change the hearts of those in authority so that you receive the desires of your heart, if you put God first on your list of priorities. God knows whether your service to Him is self-serving or from your heart in love toward Him.

If you are willing to do what He requires of you, then go ahead and ask, and you will receive. Make your requests known to God and believe Him when you ask, and it will come to pass.

"For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which you have
shown toward His name, in that you have ministered to the saints (believer's in Christ);  and do (continue to) minister." (Hebrews 6:10)

Are you in fellowship with God

Pray to Jesus right now by repeating this prayer:

Dear Lord Jesus,

I am sorry for my sins and for not believing in You as the One and only true God. I now want to make things right with You. Please come into my heart and save me. Forgive me of all my sins and make me clean.

I do believe that You died on the cross to save me from hell, and that You rose from the dead and are now in Heaven.

With all my heart I will follow you and be obedient to Your Word, and will fellowship with other believers. Thank you for saving me today.

In Your name I pray, Amen.

Have you prayed that prayer? If so, please let us know so we can rejoice with you. Click on the photo for privacy to leave your comment on my bio page.
