Definition of the word Abase: Which means to humble or to degrade, or to dishonor or be in lower dignity.

Ezekiel chapter 21 - 26 : Thus saith the Lord God; Remove the diadem and take off the crown, this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low and abase him that is high.

Daniel chapter 4 - 37 ; Now, I Nebuchadnezzer praise and extol and honor, the king of heaven, all whose works are truth and his ways judgment: and that walk in pride he is able to abase.

Matthews chapter 23 - 12 : And whosoever shall exalt himself shall be abased; and he shall humble himself shall be exalted.

Philippians chapter 4 - 12 : I know both how to be abased and I know how to abound: everywhere and in all things I am instructed hath to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need.

2 Corinthians chapter 11 - 7 : Have I committed an offence in abasing myself that ye might be exalted, because I have preached to you the gospel of God freely.

Today's daily word of encouragement word is Abase: Which means to humble or degrade or to dishonor or be in lower dignity.  The bible saith the Lord God: Remove the diadem and take off the crown: this shall not be the same: exalt him that is low and abase him that is high" which means to remove the crown and take off the crown and take of the crown, but it doesn't mean the same thing: Exalt him that is low , which means to praise and glorify him; And abase him that is high, which means to dishonor or disgrace him.

Abase--that's one of those archaic words, but God still uses it. Thanks for the explanation.

I'm not sure I really understand but I think only the Lord can debase and that it is not up to us to do so.
