These people are whacked they do not get the Holy Spirit. They think the Holy Spirit is like a dog on command and He will tell all exactly how to act. That is so wrong! Same people who claim they know truth from scripture and there is no room for a personal relationship. Same people who know God so well that they are righteous and I am not good enough.
No and no and no. My God loves me. End of Story. your rules and regulation mean nothing to me for I am free to love all and love God, my way.
Are you being persecuted or bullied by believers who are telling you what to believe, Eric?
Hi ATM. You know that I am. It is what it is.
So, you say you're being told what to believe by other believers? Aren't you doing the same thing if you evangelize or preach?
No. Read what I write. If you read it that way, you are misreading it. Try to read what I write as not doing that.
It is just to burdensome to put a large disclaimer on all I write. "Do not believe a word I say, form your own beliefs. Here are mine. If you find something good in mine -- reflect on that and apply as you believe. I am harsh sometimes in what I say. That is purposeful. It is meant as a challenge to the both of us, to look deeper"
ATM I do not feel compelled or gifted to evangelize. I preach. Many people let their thoughts wonder at what I say. That is what I intend to do.
My grandfather was a Methodist minister, as is my brother. My cousin is, not sure what to call it, everything in the Bible is to be taken literally, like an instruction manual. My brother on the other hand, takes a very wide arc, and manages to be, just nicer somehow...
My cousin takes security and happiness in what he believe, so I guess, let him be. Shame about the xenophobia and homophobia though. The key element in spiritual expansion is non-judgement, to be forgiving and open like children. Oh no, now I'm preaching!
Interesting that religion understanding can sometimes appear right beside ethical understanding but without any connection at all. Sometimes a very religious person can be ethically immature and sometimes the ethically mature person can be without religion.
Rad Man, Are you suggesting Universal Truths?
An ethical immature person may be one that thinks the only reason not to steal or kill or rape would be because they may get caught while an ethically mature person may be looking out for people as a whole such and Gandhi. Sadly religion may help the ethically immature get through life without killing someone it may also produce ethically immature people because it teaches that we shouldn't do certainly because we will get caught rather then teaching why we shouldn't do certain things.
So that we can surmise as a general rule that both, upon maturity, will come to the same conclusion and even for the same reasons.
I follow the Biblical rules. Based on faith. I teach the Biblical rules based on why and reasons not faith. Because in the end we teach that God wants us to be good. Now let us figure out what is good and why.
We can not surmise that we will all mature ethically/morally. Some never do, we have prisons full of them.

Kudos to you, Eric. I agree with what you have said here. I am glad you spoke out on this issue because religion today makes more enemies than peaceful friends. It is sad, too that religion has become so prevalent in politics. It causes more harm than good. Of course God loves you Eric. You are His son and made in His image. Therefore, you can have any type or relationship with Him you like.

Atheists are becoming Christians and Christians, atheists. New people walk in the front door of the Church while long time attenders leave, for good, by the back door. Men and women enter the ministry,...
