Qualified to Speak for God? Is This for Real?

Just ran across this on another thread. One hubber claimed it's well known who is "qualified" to "speak for God".

I asked who was qualified and another hubber comes in and says There are millions of born again Christians who are "qualified".

Are there really millions of people deluded enough to think they speak for God? Is that what is wrong with this country? How in the world can we enlighten them? I'm beginning to think maybe Kim Davis isn't the oddball I took her for.

If we're the witnesses of God on this earth then we are surely qualified to speak for God. Those who are in Christ are ambassadors of Christ and they can speak for God. But, to speak a specific message from God to some specific persons with authority one needs the prophetic word and leading from God.Otherwise, sharing the Gospel is the responsibility of everyone in Christ. While sharing the Gospel to the world, ultimately, we are speaking for God. Aren't we? When Christ said to his disciples,"go ye into the world" he meant that everyone of his followers would speak for God as per his great commission.
      With love and regards

Sorry. But no human speaks for God. That's complete self-righteousness. Even the Pope says he is fallible. And that he speaks for the church.
Yes, the divine is in most people's hearts but that doesn't not give them the right to say they are equal to God so much so that they can speak for the Divinity.

          Hello,
We need not to be infallible to speak for God. All the old testament prophets spoke for God with their human weaknesses. If any one has the word from God to speak he can speak for God without any hesitation. God still uses the weak human beings to convey his message.

What is the gospel of Jesus?  Love one another, love your enemy (not kill him), forgive to be forgiven, do not condemn, etc.  This is very different from the OT prophets.

If God is everywhere including in us and we have freewill, aren't we all qualified to speak?  The question then becomes, "What are we saying about God/ Our Ideal?"  Let us set our ideal as one of Peace not violence.  Any writing or speech which describes God/ Our Ideal as violent is blasphemy.  We project ourselves onto God/ Our Ideal.  Let the projection be non-judgmental, loving and forgiving.  Jesus said, You judge by the standards of Men, I judge no one. Eventually everyone must learn this.

susan b. anthony said that she noticed when people claim something is god's will, it most often seems to align with their personal interests.

I declare to you that woman must not depend upon the protection of man, but must be taught to protect herself, and there I take my stand.

So the point here is not that God doesn't exist, but who has the alleged right to speak for God.

The next logical step: God exists and doesn't need anyone to speak on his behalf as He/It is omnipotent

Glad I read down through the thread before commenting. That was my thought precisely.
