Because we are under grace, all the commandments lie on two commandemnets.  and they are to not put another God before me and to love your neighbor as yourself.( my words) if you do these two, then you will never break the commandments. Personally I believe if you get the first one down then, it is only natural that all else will flow, in to place on its own accord. But I believe that God cares MORE that you make a decision to believe or not to believe. For he does not want his children sitting on the fence, for the rest of there lives, decided which to believe, him or the world. For he wants nothing MORE for his children then for them to be happy with that choice. To go live out your life the way you have chosen. If we break the first then we break them, all. You will have to suffer at what your hand or mouth allowed, but God is always there ready to pull you back into the fold.

    quietnessandtrust, what is under grace?

    1. quietnessandtrust profile image60
quietnessandtrustposted 7 years ago in reply to this

Under: so as to be covered, in or into a position below or beneath something

Grace: unmerited divine assistance given humans for their regeneration or sanctification b : a virtue coming from God c : a state of sanctification enjoyed through divine grace

Do you not know...you are the slaves of whom you obey; whether of sin that leads to death, or of obedience that leads to righteousness?

Does grace license freedom TO sin, or does grace free you FROM sin?

You may break any rule that is written in any fictional account with impunity.  Breaking a rule of an actual law-based society does have consequences.

    Quietnessandtrust,
I'm assuming you believe Biblicaly, that everyone commits sin, and since ALL are entitled to free agency it goes without saying that comandments will inevitably be broken. This is why there is a repentance process.
But how many times can those commandments be broken before we are not forgiven?

It is often said that firewalls is the blessing/curse of windows platforms. Also what's your RAM memory or processor speed. The higher the RAM the higher the ability to overcome firewall distresses. However, Windows work well with tune up software unlike other platforms - you can maximize your internet speed, processing speed, and surfing speed using selected software. I recommend TuneUp Utilities 2009. smile

      1. quietnessandtrust profile image60
quietnessandtrustposted 7 years ago in reply to this

If you DO NOT believe GOD is real, what concern is it of yours???

In a culture where slaves are, that is the culture. It still goes on today. The treatment of a slave in the scriptures was to be kind, good and compassionate and they could be set free. You were not allowed to mistreat them in any way or you were punished yourself. They also had the right to stay because they loved the family they were with.

Freedom is best for all men, women and children.

        Exodus 20:2–17

        2 I am the Lord your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of slavery;

3 Do not have any other gods before me.

4 You shall not make for yourself an idol, whether in the form of anything that is in heaven above, or that is on the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth.

5 You shall not bow down to them or worship them; for I the Lord your God am a jealous God, punishing children for the iniquity of parents, to the third and the fourth generation of those who reject me,

6 but showing steadfast love to the thousandth generation of those who love me and keep my commandments.

7 You shall not make wrongful use of the name of the Lord your God, for the Lord will not acquit anyone who misuses his name.

8 Remember the Sabbath day and keep it holy.

9 For six days you shall labour and do all your work.

10 But the seventh day is a Sabbath to the Lord your God; you shall not do any work—you, your son or your daughter, your male or female slave, your livestock, or the alien resident in your towns.

11 For in six days the Lord made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that is in them, but rested the seventh day; therefore the Lord blessed the Sabbath day and consecrated it.

12 Honor your father and your mother, so that your days may be long in the land that the Lord your God is giving you.

        13 You shall not murder.

14 You shall not commit adultery.

        15 You shall not steal.

16 You shall not bear false witness against your neighbor.

17 You shall not covet your neighbor’s house; you shall not covet your neighbor’s wife, or male or female slave, or ox, or donkey, or anything that belongs to your neighbor.

I'm amazed that disciples of any faith would break any of the commandments that are part of that faith.

But given the antics and sexual misdeeds that are perpetrated by the higher echelons of many churches, it's not really surprising that the followers tend to ignore the commandments, the golden rule, and other guidelines for a moral life.

When any of my followers break my rules, their share of pasta and meatballs are immediately reduced, and the holy sauces are totally withheld.

The non-spiritual self, just as it is by nature, can't receive the gifts of God's Spirit. There's no capacity for them. They seem like so much silliness. Spirit can be known only by spirit—God's Spirit and our spirits in open communion. Spiritually alive, we have access to everything God's Spirit is doing, and can't be judged by non-spiritual critics. Isaiah's question, "Is there anyone around who knows God's Spirit, anyone who knows what he is doing?" has been answered: Christ knows, and we have Christ's Mind and Spirit.
