Do You Believe That Places Can Have Memories?

Have you ever walked into a place and felt like something bad had just happened or was about to happen, only to find out later on that something bad DID happen there?

For example, I was staying with some friends last summer. They had rented a beautiful house, but as soon as I walked in, I felt like I needed to leave immediately.

I stayed for a few nights, but that feeling of not wanting to be there never left me. After I left, I decided to look up the history of the house after learning about something called "Memory Imprinting." My research told me that the house was once the home of a child molester.

"Memory Imprinting" is when something so horrible happens to a person that the negative energy stays behind in the place it happened.

I'd like to know your opinions of "Memory Imprinting" and if you have ever had an experience like mine.

i think there are a lot of energies, dark and light, floating around out there. i don't mean spirits, just energies, and they are all around us and they can cling to objects or houses like dust.

It was back around 1960 or 61 that I was walking in the woods about a mile or two behind  my grandfathers house when I had to sit down  for some reason that I was unaware.  after a few minutes I saw part of a short rock wall that was overgrown by weeds.  After kicking the weeds down I saw a stone walkway. And suddenly I envisioned  a little house and a tree swing where there was no tree. kicking around in the weeds where I had seen the tree swing was a tree stump. Even though I felt what could be described as happy memories, I felt spooky and never returned to that place.
I ask my grandfather about that location and he told me that " Yea there used to be a family livin down there a bout 30 years ago".  I do not know if the place was holding memories or something awakened memories in my little mind of a place I have no memories of ever having been.
I don't know what it was, I just know that it was.

I am not sure if you have ever heard the term "Toxic Energy" but what that means is when bad things happen on land or in structures that energy is held there for whatever reason. Those energy will accumulate over time and can cause for instance a person living there to become very ill or have extremely bad luck. The only thing that can help is abandoning the entire site and warnings posted for those who ever want to live there. Energy is never ending, and always will be. Another reason for the bad feelings could be "Placed Energy" a footprint of sorts that keep playing the bad event over and over. Hope this helps

Yes, it is an imaginary 'energy' invented by quacks to sell snakeoil to the gullible.

Notice how the gullible go to extreme lengths to support the quackery and their delusions?

Perhaps, opening a book and attempting to understand what energy is might benefit those who comment on that which they have no clue.

Yes, you've uncovered the problem most accurately, I offer an explanation to this phenomenon.

Haha I'm sad because Work starts for me again tomorrow sad
          Otherwise I'm alright tongue

I think my irritation at the whole energies thing stems from my mother, who i can rely on to believe completely untrue stuff at the drop of a hat smile One day someone told her about spirits and stuff and she just decided to believe in them. Prior to this, no experiences, after it, loads. She's into 'past lives' and such as well, which makes me cringe xD

LOL! my theory is they're humans,  doing research, hypnotizing or brainwashing people to make them believe they're aliens. Just like mutilated cattle and lakes being vacuumed overnight.  lol

I did feel something very negative when I visited the Colosseum in Rome. It made me feel physically sick.

I also felt some very good feelings in Amber Palace near Jaipur, and in Fatepuhr Sikri.

Wandering round Alexandria released a torrent of feeling, both good and bad.

I have my own explanations for these experiences, which make sense to me, but probably won't make sense to many others.

I think that places can hold energy either bad or good but only certain people are able to feel that energy. I know I can't which kind of annoys me.

I believe a lot of the time when people say they feel energy somewhere they are faking either that or they are just feeling drafts and stuff.

I've also heard that there are certain things that can emit such a low sound that it makes places feel like they are haunted. There are certain pipes on pipe organs where the sound is out of the human range of hearing and it creates this affect which is why a lot of people think really old churches are haunted.

Don't worry, you aren't alone. No one can as there is no such thing as "good and bad" energy.

Nope, they are faking EVERY time.

If pipe organs were made in which their sound was out of the range of the human ear, why would they bother making them? Isn't that what pipe organs are for, to be heard by people?

Right now I just remember feeling love in a room. I was probably four years old, it was the time my parents took us to church. I was convinced that these strangers were kidnapping all us little kids and taking us up to this room that opened into space (NO idea where that came from, little kids are weird). I was furious that my parents were as stupid as all the other grownups and couldn't tell what was happening, so I stomped my way up these "giant" stairs. One of the women leading us up opened the door at the top and I thought "This is it." But when I walked in I found out there was love in the room. I hadn't known rooms could have love in them. No more worries, I played with everyone else.

I know we can feel feelings in a room but I'm not sure if that's only when people are there giving off the feelings or even afterward. Like you can feel when people have been arguing without seeing the people first, or you can feel a little child's guilt when they've done something wrong before you see the kid.

I love reading about others experiences; it gives me a sort of internal verification. I believe that objects as well as places can hold a sort of imprint of the people who were intimately familiar with the object/place in the past.

Believers - as a test try this; in a friends house pick out an ornament. Hold it for a while and just think about how it feels to you. Ask yourself who gave this to said friend/where they bought it/anything else you can pick up just by touching it. Check with your friend - how much did you get right?

As a tarot card reader I like to think of myself as sensitive to these things. There have been far too many times in my life where I experience ill feelings about certain places. One particular incident on the beach near my home was followed by a spooky silhouette watching the sea...To which end I really got the creeps and though I am normally quite amused by these things on this occasion I ran away, totally, totally freaked out. It felt horrible.

The thing about paranormal activity of any sort is that you either believe it or you don't; personally I'm a bit of a female fox moulder smile

I do believe that places can contain the memories of past. It is great to walk in an old place and sense the memories.

The place I currently live in has bad energy - I think it is from the previous owner's son who had a serious case of schizophrenia

For sure both good and bad. I love old barns and sometimes wonder at the stories they could tell.

I lived in a 100 year old two story house in Michigan. I was going some remodeling and removed a brick chimney that went from the basement and up through the roof.
I do not what it stirred up, but there was a lot of it.
We had a lot of misfortune  after taking out that chimney.
Too many things some of which I do not want to remember.
My brother moved into the house and also had many strange occurrences over the next couple of years.
We visited one spring and was about to go to sleep when a dreadful feeling came over both my wife and I that was real enough that we got out of bed and slept in the car.
I don't know what it was but I know that I really really couldn't like it.
