I know several christian couples that did IVF to conceive. I take it christians oppose abortion? And some (many?) oppose contraception? Are some against IVF? Is it because of embryo disposal?
I have not heard any opinions spoken by the churches on this topic. Personally a pregnancy is a pregnancy, therefore any attempt to abort said pregnancy would be going against the laws of God. "Thou shall not kill." The courts would then be asked to deal with the legal matters of the fetus to protect or destroy.
I'm uncomfortable with IVF because of the disposal of unwanted embryos.
However on a numbers game, only something like 50% of naturally fertilised eggs actually successfully implant in the womb. So the numbers lost to IVF are insignificant compared to the number of potential births that are lost naturally. The difference for me is that losses to IVF are manmade.

There has been rowe v. wade, etc. Is abortion clear cut murder or do you think there are special cases and exceptions?
