Because there is a God to pray to.
One who cares about every iota of my life.

Because I want God to know that I know the blessings bestowed on us are undeserved, but also appreciated. Because there are too many that can't say they are blessed, and need everyone to call for His mercy, on their behalf. Because the world is in need of Him.

It is a way of life, communion with someone who guides me and keeps me company.

I pray because I love to stay connected to God and prayer makes a difference.

    why do you pray?

It is natural and beneficial to pray to the Creator-God.

The sole purpose of my praying is to enjoy conversation with Creator.
To know Him more; to listen; to understand.
When I pray or speak it is as he would speak (of me), as any Dad would their son/daughter.
Even my own son knows this already --at nearly 2.5 years young.

No sickly expression, crocodile tears, woe is me...

You do not need to ask for things --and even if you do, then it is to remind yourself of what has already been created for you, waiting for you to enjoy. Perhaps you should pray to remind yourself not to forget who you truly are and why you were really created -- to be and express the perfect expression of Creator. Anything less is pointless.

    James.
