I tend to roll my eyes when people express the sentiment without adding the word may. I mean, how freaking powerful do people consider themselves to be? They don't have the power of forcing a deity to bless anyone. It's presumptuous on their part and comes across as condescending.
Jesus taught us to bless others, including our enemies.
I don't see blessing as being forced upon anyone.
But, bless you all the same.
