A question for you? Your beliefs?  Do you believe in god or gods as the case may be or do you think it's all complete rubbish? Were you raised with those beliefs or did you change during your life? If so why?

I am curious because recently it came to my attention that most of the people in my social group had very different opinions when it came to god, religion and other similar topics. They varied from one friend who fully believed in god and the bible to another who was agnostic to another who believed it all to be complete and utter rubbish. Personally i am not religious. I do not however believe religion to be completely stupid. People are entitled to believe what they want and should not be judged because of their beliefs.

Back to the question. What are your personal beliefs? Were you raised on those beliefs or Did you change your beliefs during your life. If so what caused you to change your beliefs?

This is simple curiosity and nothing more. I am not looking to insult anybody or cause an arguement i wish only for people to be honest in their responses.

My mother brought me up believing in God, but that was as far as it went. At the age of 15, I 'gave my life to Jesus' and spent the next 23 years in Pentecostal churches with various visits to churches of other denominations. I accepted all that I was spoon-fed contrary to my education and work experience as a professional engineer.

Three years ago I started to formally question every doctrine I believed. I wrote up some of my findings and sent them to my Church Pastor. He didn't want to discuss them, so I left the church.

I have a hub in waiting that I will write up one day detailing 15 things I no longer believe. Key ones are that I no longer believe in eternal torment in Hell; I dont believe that an arch fiend aka Satan exists or demons; I don't believe in the trinity; and I don't believe in original sin.

I do believe that Yashua aka Jesus was God our Father Himself in the flesh and that he gave himself as a sacrifice for sin. I also believe that the universe is 13 billion or so years old and that we are the result of evolution.

Im confused. You believe god created jesus but the rest of us had to evolve over billions of years?

Don't you think thats a bit long winded forgod to do that? If we evolved then why do we need to be created?

Do you believe that god just created life and let it evolve and then when he decided he created jesus?

Lets be honest. All evidence says we evolved from a single cell and all evidence also says that it is possible for life to arise from non life.

No need for a god at all really.

I don't think Jesus, I ask refuge with Allah, ever believed or said that He was husband of Mary.

        How could you believe that?

If Jesus was, as Disappearinghead states, god the father, and Mary was begotten of god; that makes Jesus husband of Mary.

            If not ; why not?

      Questions are always good.
Are of none of your concern nor should they be.
I presently hold no belief whatsoever about a god or gods.
I was born and baptized, and raised Catholic. My understanding of that has changed and did so after intense research into world religions.
Again, nothing you need to concern yourself with.
      Answered above.
