GOD'S HOLY SPIRIT is JESUS' HOLY SPIRIT

The Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Christ is the same.
The Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Christ is the same.

THE HOLY SPIRIT OF GOD

The Almighty Lord God of heaven and earth is a Spiritual Being and Father of all spirits. He manifests Himself as the Holy Spirit which is His power to perform miracles on earth and Jesus Christ, His Son who was born of the Holy Spirit on earth to redeem us from sins thus bringing mankind back to the grace of God.

Adam and Eve sinned against the Lord God and were banished from the garden of Eden and "a flaming sword which turned every way, to keep the tree of life" (Gen 3:24).

"Wherefore, as by one man sin entered into the world, and death by sin; and so death passed upon all men, for that all have sinned" (Rom 5:12).

God wanted to change the situation where man was disengaged from God and He decided to put His Holy Spirit into man's heart so that he might change to a new man capable of loving and obeying the Lord God.

"And I will put my Spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them" (Eze 36:27).

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS THE ONE TRUE GOD

The Holy Spirit is God's wonderful manifestation of His tremendous power to create, protect, judge, guiide, change, and foresee the beginning and ending of all matters under the sun.

God had promised to give His chosen people a new heart, a heart of flesh which He would put into their hearts and be with them always. The Holy Spirit will teach and guide them into the way of righteousness, avoiding evil and strengthening their spirituality. The force of the Holy Spirit is so strong because it is the Spirit of God that will fight on our behalf in our battles against the evil one.

A new heart also will I give you, and a new spirit will I put within you: and I will take away the stony heart out of your flesh, and I will give you a heart of flesh.

  • And I will put my spirit within you, and cause you to walk in my statutes, and ye shall keep my judgments, and do them (Eze 36:26-27).
  • God is a Spirit: and they that worship him must worship him in spirit and in truth (Jn 4:24).
  • And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all (1 Cor.12:6; Php 2:13).
  • And hereby we know that he abideth in us, by the Spirit which he hath given us (1 Jn 3:24).

THE HOLY SPIRIT IS JESUS CHRIST

"And because ye are sons, God hath sent forth the Spirit of his Son into your hearts, crying, Abba, Father" (Gal 4:6).

  • Now the Lord is that Spirit: and where the Spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty (2 Cor 3:17).
  • Paul and Silas were forbidden to preach "the word in Asia (6). After they were come to Mysia, they assayed to go into Bithynia: but the Spirit suffered them not (Acts 16:7).
  • Then the Spirit said unto Philip, Go near, and join thyself to this chariot (Ac 8:29).
  • But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his (Rom 8:9).

The Spirit of God and the Spirit of Jesus Christ are the same. The Holy Spirit is God, and is also Jesus Christ. There is no distinction between them for they are the same Spirit. Praise the Lord.

THE HOLY SPIRIT AND THE SPIRIT OF CHRIST ARE THE SAME

God's manifestations of the Holy Spirit and the Spirit of Christ (Jesus) are the one and same Spirit of God. In the Old Testament, the works of the Holy Spirit were creation of the universe, giving of the 10 commandments, blessings, judgment, guidance, punishment and prophecy among other wondrous works. The works of the Holy Spirit in the New Testament were bringing the people back to God by giving them the Holy Spirit to dwell in their hearts teaching them obedience and reliance in God through forgiveness of sins, casting out evil spirits performing miracles of wondrous nature as walking on water, feeding of five thousand on two loaves of bread and five fishes, raising Lazarus from the dead, and healing different diseases. Only God can perform such marvellous and outstanding performance. Glory to the Holy Spirit or the Spirit of Christ!

This is awesome, once again proving the "Trinity" ~ not three separate, but ONE GOD, so beautifully. The evidence of the indwelling Spirit of God are the fruits and the gifts. By this we see the workings of the Lord through us daily. He loves us so much. Wonderful hub!

Judah's Daughter,

There was never a "Trinity" but only God and His manifestations of the Holy Spirit (God's extraordinary power) and Jesus (God's manifestation of fully God and fully Man) on earth.

I do not believe in calling God and His Holy Spirit as two persons described as out of three persons in the Trinity. God is a Spirit and so is the Holy Spirit. They should never be addressed as persons such as you and me. Likewise, we mortals should not be described as "spirits" when we are definitely human beings.

Trinity is a "coined" word, not in the Bible but used by most churches who follow the tradition of the Catholic Church.

Let's say you are a brilliant scientist and of good character. The description "brilliant scientist" does not make you another person and neither your "good character" make you the third person of the trinity. There is ONLY YOU and two descriptions of your vocation and character.

The term "trinity" is definitely flawed in describing our creator, the Almighty Lord God as three persons in ONE. There is ONLY ONE GOD, His powerful force which is the Holy Spirit and Jesus born of the Holy Spirit in the form of a human being.

God bless.

Yes, it would have been easier not to use the word "trinity", but due to confusion of people who have created three beings instead of one, it's become a confusing explanation. When Jesus was baptized, he was the Son of Man, yet fully God. When the Spirit descended upon Him from heaven, the Spirit also indwelt Him prior to this (for He was conceived by the Spirit). The Father spoke, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased", yet the Father is the Holy Spirit in Him and descending upon Him. This shows all of God, the Godhead all active at one time. Explaining that these are not three different persons of God is difficult to the unbeliever. Only God can reveal Himself to us, and He has. God is ONE God. Amen.

Judah's Daughter,

It is quite easy to understand when you know the following:

1. The word "Trinity" is not found in the Bible. It is a coined word.

2. In the 10 Commandments and throughout the Bible, God says, You must worship the ONE TRUE GOD.

3. No where does God tell you to worship 3 PERSONS into ONE PERSON.

4. It is not possible for 3 PERSONS to merge into ONE PERSON.

5. GOD and the HOLY SPIRIT are described as SPIRITS, NEVER AS PERSONS.

6. SPIRITS of GOD and HOLY SPIRIT cannot turn into PERSONS as described in TRINITY.

7. In the whole book of ACTS, the disciples baptized in the NAME of JESUS CHRIST. Are the disciples disobedient to Jesus? NO!

8. "FATHER" is not a NAME. "HOLY SPIRIT" is not a NAME but JESUS is a NAME.

9. The Bible says to repent and be baptized in the NAME of JESUS CHRIST for the remission of sins (Acts 2:38).

10. The word "NAME" is singular, "FATHER" is not a NAME and neither is "HOLY SPIRIT" a name.

Its all a play with words. The Father talks about his only begotten, and in whom God is pleased. The Son Jesus Christ says if you have seen him you have seen the Father, the Father and I are one. He Jesus will send us the Comforter, the Holy Spirit, to live in the believer, the new Temple our bodies. The Three are one each with an office for perfecting Gods salvation. If God never died as a man, then there would be no salvation, so one part of God had to become man and a man also, to represent and be the mediator for man.For God to be able to live in man Jesus would have to send himself back as the Holy Spirit which is also the Spirit of God.

God said in Genesis "Let "us" make man in "our" image and likeness.God is three,Father, Word and Holy Spirit, as one God hence why man is three. Spirit Soul and Body as one Man.

Blessings

To take the three manifestations of God and make them into two is to cause confusion to the unbeliever and to the reader of the Bible, in my opionion. Neither Jesus as the Son, nor the Dove as the Spirit spoke the words of the Father when Jesus was baptized. How do you explain that one?

You've already stated correctly that the Spirit of God and the Spirit of Christ are the same, and that God is Spirit. This proves the Father, Son and Holy Spirit are the self-same God.

Three "names" are used in the Bible: The Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit, so the "trinity" (three are one God) is not a false teaching, but helps to clarify this ONE God to the reader. It is the same word "One" as is used when the husband and wife are "no longer two, but one flesh" in the eyes of God (merged into One upon union).

Take the word "trinity" out; it doesn't matter to me. Did you ever expose the meanings of the word God in the Old Testament and Jesus in the New Testament?

Regarding the Old Testament, the Hebrew word for God is elohiym (el-o-heem’); plural of elowahh or eloahh; gods in the ordinary sense; but spec. used (in the plural, thus especially with the article “the”) of the supreme God. So The Hebrew word elowahh or eloahh (el=o’-ah) is: the Diety:-God. The word elohiym is used most throughout the Old Testament, even in Exodus 20:2: “I am the LORD (Yehovah) your God (elohiym). In other words, Yehovah your elohiym ~ part of the first commandment.

Regarding the New Testament, did you ever look up the Greek word for Jesus? The name JESUS is Iesous (ee-ay-sooce') meaning Jehoshua, the name of our Lord and two (three); same as Hebrew Yehowshuwa meaning Yehovah saved. Jesus was also named Immanuel (God with Us).

The name of our "Lord and two (three)?" Why did't it say the name of our "Lord and one (two)"?

It's a shame that Christians are divided over this concept and how to witness it to the unbeliever. Anyone who has separated the Godhead into three separate beings is in error. The trinity, according to the Catholic church and Protestant churches is taught in the correct way.

Judah's Daughter,

YOU WROTE: To take the three manifestations of God and make them into two is to cause confusion to the unbeliever and to the reader of the Bible, in my opionion.

ANSWER: GOD IS THE ORIGIN, and the HOLY SPIRIT AND JESUS are GOD'S manifestations.

There are ONLY TWO MANIFESTATIONS, NOT THREE. GOD IS NOT A MANIFESTATION. He is the creator and our saviour in whom we trust.

Let's take any person, say you for instance. You are the person. You manifest as a Christian and you write. Does that make you three persons?

YOU WROTE: Neither Jesus as the Son, nor the Dove as the Spirit spoke the words of the Father when Jesus was baptized. How do you explain that one?

ANSWER: Neither Jesus nor the Holy Spirit spoke because they are GOD's MANIFESTATION. Jesus was sent to earth by God to die for our sins and the Holy Spirit was sent by God to wield His ultra extraordinary power to perform miracles. They both submit to God. They do not act on their own.

In the previous paragraph when I quoted you as a Christian and a writer, you would be a person and the Christian virtues do not manifest as a person nor does your writing.

YOU WROTE:the "trinity" (three are one God) is not a false teaching,

ANSWER: The godhead consists of three, God, Holy Spirit and Jesus.

However, what I object to is using the term "trinity" to describe GOD and THE HOLY SPIRIT as "PERSONS". GOD and THE

HOLY SPIRIT are spirits. Spirits are more powerful than mere human beings. The word "Trinity" is not found in the Bible.

YOU WROTE: The trinity, according to the Catholic church and Protestant churches is taught in the correct way.

ANSWER: I strongly object to your view because GOD and the HOLY SPIRIT ARE SPIRITS, NOT MERE PERSONS.

I do agree that the GODHEAD ARE THREE IN ONE.

God bless.

Judah's Daughter profile image

Judah's Daughter 6 years ago from Roseville, CA

I also agree that the Godhead is three in one. He is not three "persons", though the old hymn states as such "God in three persons; blessed trinity". True Christians know that God is Spirit, is the Holy Spirit and Jesus is the image of the invisible God. It is the Spirit of God, which is also the Spirit of Christ that now dwells in us and works through us. In the Old Testament, God "manifested" Himself in clouds and fire. In the New Testament, God "manifested" Himself in the person of Jesus Christ and also in the form of a dove. As I said, we can take the word "trinity" out, but explain it as clearly as possible to the unbeliever who seeks to understand this concept.

einron profile image

Judah's Daughter,

YOU WROTE: He is not three "persons", though the old hymn states as such "God in three persons; blessed trinity".

ANSWER: Whoever wrote the hymn had the wrong concept of the Godhead for God is not revered as God but as a person. Neither is God's Holy Spirit revered as a Spirit but as a person. Human beings are not righteous and Christians who follow Christ are also not completely pure in their thoughts.

Christians should pray every day to God for forgivenss in their wrong thinking or impure thoughts. God will forgive their weakness.

If you take the word "trinity" out, you cannot believe the method of believing is correct. The weed must be completely rooted out leaving no residue.

Purity and impurity in either word or deed do not mix. God is righteous and those who worship HIm must worship Him in spirit and in truth.

Jesus is returning soon the second time, and we have to change our wrong perceptions pertaining to our revered God.

God bless.

Trinity means "three in unity". Even you said "The godhead consists of three, God, Holy Spirit and Jesus." If you think the word "trinity" is an evil root, that is your opinion, but doesn't mean it's sinful. Likewise, the word "rapture" is not in the Bible, but "caught up in the air" is. This is what "rapture" means. Anyhow, your hub is truth, that the Spirit of God and Spirit of Christ is God and the same. God bless you ~~

I agree with you 100%. Jesus said "You have eyes but cannot see". It is the Holy Spirit that reveals Christ to you day by day, and gives you the Fruit of the Spirit, and also the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, which is the Fire. Jesus died on the cross inplace of us. Not only did he set us free but gave us his Spirit to be him on earth.

You can believe what you want but the Holy Spirit - Ruach HaKodesh is the Third person of the Elohim Godhead. Surely the Holy Spirit was the Spirit and Mother of Jesus Christ who conceived Jesus Christ in Mary's womb, Matthew 1:20. Of all people to believe surely you would believe Jesus Christ who spoke in the Hebrew Aramaic tongue in John 3:3-8! It is right here that he calls Ruach HaKodesh - Spirit Mother. it seems that you seem to be a believer in only one God. This sounds like you follow Dr. Arius', Unitarian way, who taught that God the Father created Jesus and the Holy Spirit through Jesus Christ. Very strange indeed, even Martin Luther believed in the Holy Spirit as Mother also the Old Catholic Church taught the same fact. Just like Jesus the Holy Spirit is the Same yesterday ( Genesis 1:2 As Mother Ruach Ha Kodesh, hovering over Her empty nest then), today ( about to give birth to the first harvest of sons and daughters, Isaiah 66:7-13, Leviticus 23:24, Revlation 22:17.), And forever, (Leviticus 23:36, the last harvest of eagles, Isaiah 40:31), Heb 13:8. John 1:1-5 shows that Jesus was with the Father from the beginning Genesis 1:1,26. Jesus was also with Ruach Ha Kodesh in the beginning, Genesis 1:2, 26; Job 33:4. Jesus said "He is the way,the ruth, and the life: no man comes to the Father but by me, John 14:6. You can have Ruach HaKodesh - Mother, who will teach you all things,John 16:16. This is true because Jesus said so. Amen!

I once belonged to a Church that taught only two Gods, the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit was the power of them both. No you are very wrong. The Apostle Paul wrote one whole Chapter devoted to Ruach HaKodesh in Romans 8, describing Her Motherly Power. Also in the Hebrew Peshitta this verse

"16" reads "She the Spirit bears witness with our spirit, that we are the chldren of God." All three members are mentioned here in chapter 8 by the Apostle Paul. If you do not believe me than believe Jesus Christ or the Apostle Paul.

YOU WROTE:

Surely the Holy Spirit was the Spirit and Mother of Jesus Christ who conceived Jesus Christ in Mary's womb, Matthew 1:20.

ANSWER:

Hebrews 7:3 Without father, WITHOUT MOTHER, without descent, having neither beginning of days, nor end of life; but made like unto the Son of God;

Jesus was born without mother because a baby needs a father and a mother to conceive. Mary was a SURROGATE mother because she carried the baby Jesus in her womb.

You mentioned John 3:3-8

Here Jesus was speaking in spiritual terms, and not talking in the physical sense.

To be born of water (to die in the water is to be baptized into the blood of Jesus Christ and be resurrected again. His old sins are forgiven and he is a new creature like a new born child).

YOU WROTE:it seems that you seem to be a believer in only one God.

ANSWER: (1) The Lord God is ONE GOD. (Deu 6:4; Mk 12:29)

(2)There is one God (1 Tim 2:5; 1 Cor 8:6, Jas 2:19)

There is no other god but the Lord

(1)The Ten Commandments show that we should not have other gods (Ex 20:3)

(2) God says, "I, even I, am he, and there is no god with me" (Deu 5:7; Is 45:5).

Hmm, Hebrews 7:3 and 1-4. These verses are speaking of Melchisedec King of Salam, who some consider to be Jesus Christ, however Jesus was the Word of God in Genesis 1:26 who spoke with both the Father - Yahovah and Ruach HaKodesh here - "Let us" make human kind in our image, plural. Jesus Christ was not a created being and has always existed with them, John 3:1-5.

Besides "if" God is only one person (Strong concordance #433 Hebrew -elowahh, singular, then why did Moses write 'elohiym' or elohim #430 which is plural for God?

And "if" God is only one being singular are you telling me that God is here both male and female? This would be contrary to the plural word elohiym for family, one Father male and One Mother - female and one the Word, who would become the first son of the Father and plus many more to come, Hebrews 2:6-16. In which this word elohim can mean both male and female Gods.

God the Father, Yahovah is the originator of Family,Genesis 1:1. Ruach HaKodesh is the one who borns us, Gen 1:2. God is here explaining to us through Moses, God's greatest creation "Family" of humans who will become the sons and daughters of both God the Father and Ruach, 2 Corinthians 6:16-18. Here Jesus the Word who became the Father's "Seed"( changed himself to sperm and was still alive and was transferred over to Mary's womb by the Holy Spirit), and became the first born Son of the Father. Begotten of the Father, Conceived of the Spirit in Mary's womb for their Godly purpose. Jesus did not have two Fathers. But had one Father and one Mother.Yes, Jesus describes the Spiritual need to be born of Ruach HaKodesh to Nicodemus. Nicodemus only knew of the physical, now he had a first hand account from Jesus Christ. We should all shout for joy at this wonderful miracle done for us.

If you do not believe Jesus, Paul, or Moses nor me than try the Apostle Peter in Acts 5:3-4. Here Peter calls the Holy Spirit God.

I am telling you no such thing. God is spirit and has no gender.

YOU WROTE:

Here Jesus the Word who became the Father's "Seed"( changed himself to sperm and was still alive and was transferred over to Mary's womb by the Holy Spirit), and became the first born Son of the Father.

ANSWER:

Jesus was God's manifestation on earth and He did not changed.

For example, you are a person, a father and a professional.

Are you three persons?

YOU WROTE:

Jesus did not have two Fathers. But had one Father and one Mother.

ANSWER:

Mary was his surrogate mother and Jesus was God's manifestation.

I believe in the Bible. Amen.

"If," you believe the Bibe then believe Jesus Christ and what he said to Nicodemus in John 3:3-8 - Be born of Ruach HaKodesh the Holy Spirit.

And yes, Mary was Jesus' surrogate physical mother but Ruach Hakodesh is his Spiritual Mother because Jesus tell us so. And so did the angel in Matthew 1:20 and begotten of the Father, John 3:16. And technically women since Genesis 4:1; Genensis 1:28 have been able helpers for the Holy Spirit, to born physical children to become future children of God, born of the Spirit, John 3:6-8. This is part of God's plan for our salvation.

Though the word trinity is not in the Bible Jesus gave us Five - 5 very plain sequences of areas of Scripture which show three members of Triune Godhead. Count them for yourself and you will see that there are two others besides Jesus - Matthew 28:19,John 3:3-8,16-17; John 14:2-31, John 15:1, 7-10,23-26, John 16:3,7-13-16.

The Word Trinity was coined by the Theologian Tertulian in the 2nd century. More than likely he counted how many were shown in these scriptures. Also, Ellen G. White the founder of the Seventh Day Adventist did the same. She looked at what Jesus said in the above scriptures and came to the same conclusion that there are three different Gods. Amen.

Sharon 4 years ago

Ellen White said there were 3 persons but 2 "beings". Man is a person and has an inner person, which is their character. God is a person and has a spirit; and Jesus is a person and has a spirit, and both God , the father and Jesus ' spirit , makes up the Holy Spirit , which is the 3 rd person of the Godhead. John 17:3 "This is life eternal, that they might know Thee, the only true God, and Jesus Christ, whom Thou hast sent" ...this is knowing 2 beings not 3. A living soul or human has a body and a spirit which cannot act independly. God and Jesus and the holy spirit can act independently. God uses his Holy Spirit to inpregnat Mary, to create in us a new spirit and made us a new creature.

The Holy Spirit is a person. The Trinity is 3 persons in One God, the Father the Son and the Holy Spirit. The Holy Spirit is not an it, the Holy Sprit should be worshiped as He is God. The presence of the Holy Spirit always is God's gift of the paraclete. Thank you

The Holy Spirit is God's working force and has no form like a man. God uses this power to execute His will. It is God's manifestation.

Trinity is not a word found in the Bible but is coined by the Catholic Church. God and the Holy Spirit are Spirits and not men. They are not seen by the naked eye but their presence can be felt. They do not eat and sleep like ordinary men.

My God! Can't you all "SEE" that God is "I AM!!!!!" God is a Spirit! A Spirit is not a person! The Holy Spirit is a Spirit that's why it's called Spirit - not a person! Jesus Christ is the only manifestation of a person (temporarily) in which God (Spirit) entered into Mary's womb! Remember John 4:24! Don't you agree?

Stop looking at Scripture with "carnal" eyes, but with "spiritual" eyes or you will forever be confused! This should be "very plain" to those that are "in Christ Jesus" because the Holy Spirit would have revealed this to you!

The Trinity is causing too many Christians to disagree with what Scripture has said! However, that's Satan's job (Religion) to kill, steal and destroy and world's religion is doing a great job of it! Remember, "There is a way which SEEMETH right unto a man, but the end thereof are the ways of DEATH! (Prov 14:12; 16:25) Don't let "Religion" fool you! Seek truth from the Holy Spirit!
