How to Talk the Talk
Unless the gospel is preached with contemporary relevance it has not been preached.
Martin Luther
Ask a Chinaman what a banana means and he can explain it to you. Ask him what a babes is and he will look at you dumbfounded. Why? Because one is of his culture and one is not.
When sharing the gospel with others whether in your country or in another try to understand their culture they live in first. Then pray The Holy Spirit bless you with a way to explain the Bible and its message in ways that are relevant to the people you are trying to reach.
The same is true when trying to share the gospel with someone in a different age group. First try to understand their culture, then use that knowledge to reach out to them and make the Gospel relevant to them.
Please do not be a rooster talking with a duck. You might as well waste your time talking to a wall. It is a useless exercise in futility and frustration. Believe me I speak from a lot of experience.
I have learned this living in different cultures and adopted this style quite successfully and it makes it so much easier to guide others to Jesus.
Prayer: Oh Jehovah Rabbi (God our teacher) please bless me with the patience and wisdom to take the time to first learn the culture of _________ (fill in the blank). I desire so much to be able to reach them. To help them understand You and your love. To guide them to accept You into their lives. In the name of our wonderful savior Jesus Christ I pray. Amen.
May the sunshine of Jesus’ sweet love bless you today and every day.
