Two Inner Reflections: My Thoughts and My Prayer
Only Good Thoughts pass my mind.
I had written down two powerful reflections on January 16, 2001. I say powerful because they really worked for me. It was the time of my life when my husband was bedridden and on oxygen; I knew it won't be long that he would go back to the Creator, but I needed strength to sustain me as I took care of him. He died two years later; if I reflect now how I did it, I can see the enormous strength I had to take care of him full time; leaving my job and care-giving him from the smallest details till the end; for three years.
Here they are.
Moment by moment, second by second;
Minute by minute, hour by hour;
Day by day, night by night;
Week by week, month by month;
In every tic-tac of the clock
Is a moment of thoughts.
Now, this moment, is my only and perfect time
For thinking of everything that is fine;
I think good and of good things only;
I think of good feelings;
I think of love and compassion;
I think of joy, delight and pleasure;
I think of all natural beauties;
I think of God, the Source of "all things bright and beautiful"
I think of abundance and riches in this wonderful Universe;
I think of forgiveness and peace;
I think of the goodness in humans;
I think of all the pleasant and comforting words, live them, and speak them;
I think of good deeds for my self and for others;
I think of my service for my Lord and for all His creatures who need me;
I think of my self as God's channel of love and infinite creative energy and wisdom;
I think of all the wonderful things in this Universe and of riches untold;
I think of all the mysteries in the secret chambers of man's existence that are yet to unfold;
I think of all that man can think and create;
I think of all the wonders of man as God's "crown of creation" and masterpiece;
I think of God's unconditional love to all mankind;
I think of everything good that is manifesting to me this very moment;
I think and I think, and no matter how I think, I know that my mind never stops thinking, so I choose what I must think;
And these are only good thoughts for the good of all concerned.
These are my thoughts, this very moment.
Give me a heart that knows no ill;
Give me a clean and pure heart Oh Lord;
Impute in me the mind that thinks only good for everyone and for my self;
Grant me understanding, discernment and wisdom;
Endow me with a healthy and strong body which reflects your own
And that can be of service for the weak and the weary.
Reflect in me your love, kindness and compassion for my children, my love ones, and for those who are bereft of the essence of life's joy;
Inculcate in me peace, meekness, mercy and grace to model your Greatness in my every day life;
Let me fathom life's reality;
Allow me to envision creativity and presence of mind to model a fulfilling life;
Unfold me to the peak of my God-given energy and enthusiasm in order to accomplish and achieve my life's goals and purpose;
Empower me with a systematic and logical approach to life's challenges that I may meet along life's journey.
I praise you Oh Lord for all the good things that you let me partake;
I count all my blessings, piece by piece, with such rejoicings in my heart;
I acknowledge you as the only Source of everything that I enjoy in life;
You granted me all the desires of my heart and you continue to fulfill your promise of meeting all my needs in perfect timing;
Whatever I asked in your name is done unto me;
How Great You are in my life Oh Lord;
I desire to proclaim you to those who are yet in the dark;
You are the Light when my path is cloudy;
You carry me with your powerful arms when I am unable to move on my own;
My faith in you gets stronger as you continue to show me the wonders of living;
You reveal to me what is hidden beneath the seeming catastrophe of life;
Great is Your Faithfulness Oh Lord!
What you had done for me in the past is the same today and through eternity;
You had given me everything to live a fulfilling life in all areas;
Whatever I ask and pray for is already granted me, and even those I had not thought of asking due to my limited vision, you had already given me.
How Great You are Oh my Lord!
I humbly offer my self and my life to you My Lord, just as I am;
I give you my mind, my heart, my body,and and all that I am;
I give you my love, my faith, my trust, my loyalty;
There is nobody else in this vast universe who is worthy of my praises and thanksgiving;
For I know that that You had given yourself to me even before I was conceived in my mother's womb;
And you are the Source of my life which I gladly offer to you in return;
Make me your trustworthy steward to perform the task you assigned me in this life;
Let me execute my talent in full capacity;
Mold me into a channel of your Divine Love and Power;
Let me be the inspiration for others to live their lives according to their individual Divine purpose;
I do everything for your glory and honor, Oh Lord.
I now claim the blessings that you intend for me.
Thank you Father. These do I pray. Amen! And Amen!
