An Intro to the "Love Letters to our Moon" Series - a way of viewing our deeper selves
A brief missive about this blog
As the old song goes: "the moon belongs to everyone, the best things in life are free.....the moonbeams that shine, they're yours they're mine, the best things in life are free .... and love can come to everyone, the best things in life are free".
With this series, I want to chronicle how our beloved moon affects our daily emotions. And in particular, the affects of the moon are what we share as a group. It is ours. These writings are intended to support self discovery and show how we as elements of nature are just as susceptible to being influenced by the same cosmic forces that affect all of the rest of nature.
Astrology - its an ancient art that has been proven valuable through millennia of study and wisdom. We can use what has been learned from the study of the stars and planets over the eons to help us understand our daily lives. So, I'm going to try to do that through this medium.
I must start off with an apology. I wanted to give you guys a sleek and high quality first blog, but as the cosmos would have it, I can't. Because of a mild tornado in my area and the lack of electricity, I don't have access to my computer or office. But rather than delete a hub that had been started five minutes before everything blacked out, I decided to just submit a note on my intentions from this borrowed computer - which is open to public use.
By the way, I know plenty of you guys are experiencing technical difficulties as well because we are all falling under the spell of "mercury retrograde" i.e. going backwards. For those who don't know what that means, I'll have to explain it when I have more time. I'm on a time limit on this computer. Suffice it to say, technology, communications and commerce are not going smoothly during these times - about 3 times a year.
The love letter for today would have been sent to what I would call our "Soulful Protector Cancer Moon". Since the moon is at home in the sign of Cancer, its probably divine providence that I should start the series at this time. The sign of Cancer is intuitive, collecting of energy (as oppose to giving out energy) and defined by emotions - all of the same qualities possessed by the moon. Cancer also produces cautious worriers that seek to nurture the rest of us - its the mother archetype.
Right now I've got to sign off of this computer. Sorry for the cryptic message and the lack of graphics. God willing, I'll be back soon with a love letter to our next moon, which is Leo. Stay tuned.
