The Mayan Calendar Prediction: Would the World End in 2012? It's Already 2013 Now, so the Answer Is Obvious 'No'

Updated on October 24, 2018

The Mayan Calendar tells that the world will come to the end on Dec 21st, 2012, just lesser than two years from now (as of March 2011).

The Mayan people were brilliant astronomers and mathematicians; they had done a lot of researches and accomplishments, which were only possible with today's technology. To achieve that, the Mayan people had their own unique methods and techniques in tracking down planets and moons. It was quite something that was impossible back then (more than three thousand years ago) and so some people believe that Mayan was linked to a supreme god that governs the Nibiru planet.

Whatever it is, their accomplishments did really help in shaping how human being see the world, especially when 2012 is approaching. For better or worst, let's us have a look on the Mayan Calendar.

The Mayan calendar has a period of 5,126 years and depending on how it is interpreted, once it reached the final day, the whole world will undergone a great change. The Mayan believed that the earth has a cycle of 2,152 years which is part of a bigger cycle of 26,000 years and coincidentally the coming cycle will come to the end with the winter solstice of 2012, on Dec 21st to be more specific.

On top of that, they also believed that the world will enter into a new world of age after the end of the coming cycle. Although it was not mentioned clearly in the Mayan prophecy, most believers claimed that it would be a shift of world consciousness or a spiritual evolution that will create an impact towards all living beings. Some say it is for the better, while some for the worst.

On the same date as predicted by Mayan calendar, our scientists have also found out that it is also the date where the galaxy will completely realign. For the same reason, this will definitely create an impact towards the earth but the exact consequences are still not known. All planets in the galaxy have their own gravity force and when such gigantic alignment happens, what would you think it will happen? Well, any changes in the earth will bring disasters like earthquakes, tsunamis, typhoon, volcanoes become more active and such and such. They are indeed happening now.

Why Mayan Calendar ends in 2012

Nobody can tell what will happen on Dec 21st of 2012. All predictions are just opinions, interpretation and/or suggestion. All that we can do is to wait and see. Ancient predictions could be wrong or perhaps it was our interpretation that made them wrong.

Whatever it is, I believe that you shouldn't miss your 2012 Christmas shopping; it could be the best one that you could ever celebrate.

Anyway, be ready also to throw out a party to celebrate the never ending world on 21st Dec, 2012. If you want to know more how the Mayan Calendar works, you can read more about it at this hub: Mayan Calendar.

UPDATE:

Now it has been proven that the Mayan Calendar/prediction about the end of the world was absolutely correct, it was the human's interpretation that got it wrong.
