What Are Shadow People?

Updated on May 16, 2015

Shadow people have been talked about for as long as people have experienced paranormal phenomena, but what are they? Shadow people are often described as being human-like in shape, being quick yet having jerky movements with the ability to appear on walls and ceilings simultaneously. By some they are believed to be evil but by others they may be described as guardian angels. Unless you are a medium or otherwise have special psychic abilities they are often glimpsed and never seen straight on, at least not at first.

It seems to be common place that people will often see something moving out of their peripheral vision and assume that it was nothing and just a figment of their imagination but the feelings of being observed may linger much longer making that person uncomfortable. How often have you been sitting and watching TV or reading and thought you saw a quick flash of movement out of the corner of your eye and of course you look and nothing is there? It has been reported that feelings of fear, panic or trepidation accompany these run-ins with the shadow people.

It is also a common belief by those who believe that shadow people are evil beings that these beings are not and have never been human, so again what are they? It has been put out there that these “things” are actually ancient evil beings that thrive on fear, pain and anger. For a little clarification, the shadow people being referred to here are not the same as seeing a “ghost” often a ghostly apparition may be white in color and even those that present themselves as a darker mass are not often confused with the shadow people. Shadow people are extremely dense in that it looks like you literally can reach out and touch this form and it will have substance, often the one seeing the shadow will experience those feeling mentioned earlier of fear or panic.

One of the best descriptions of shadow people and what they can do comes from psychic medium Amy Allan, who many know from the show “The Dead Files” on Travel Channel. Amy Allan’s experience happened when she was four years old; she stated that the shadow people would come talk to her at night and at first she thought they were nice and were fun until they convinced her that in order to keep playing with them she needed to stick her finger in a light socket, almost killing her.

For those who have had an experience with a true shadow person it is not something that you will ever want to be repeated and for those who don’t believe in the existence of anything other then what they have been told exists, well good luck to you if you ever have an experience. So after all the research and all the reading there is still no straight answer that can be given as to what shadow people truly are and maybe it is something none of us will ever know until we ourselves pass over to the other side.

Have you ever seen a shadow person?
