My husband's hobby is inspired by his love of medieval arms and armor: his quest? To make a hauberk, or chain mail suit, entirely from coat hangers. It is the ultimate in extreme knitting, and a great use for all of those metal coat hangers. read more

I love fiction writing.  My stories become clear in my mind and the characters demand to be heard.  From the honorable knight Sir Rosman to the evil street lord Sharpie they talk to me and I give them life.
I also enjoy training and teaching martial arts.  I am a third degree black belt in Tang Soo Do and I enjoy working with the kids and learning new moves from the master of the school.

I have several hobbies, but the top one is equestrian riding (both western and classic).  Other things I love to do include cooking, cross stitching, writing and reading.  Of course, playing all sports is an obvious one too!

Everyone knows that it's good to have hobbies.  Our moms told us so.  The idea, apparently, is that we will remain calm, interested and interesting if we have a hobby.  As far as I'm concerned a hobby you love is just plain fun.   There are about... read more

I'm Drama Nerd! I LOVE  everything Theatre, from acting, singing, directing, tech, coaching and watching musicals and plays. I’ve done it all. I started acting when I was six my first role was a smart mouth cat in our Christmas play that was the moment I was bitten by the theatre bug. Some of my favorite roles include Portia (mean stepsister) in "Cinderella", Rose in "Fences", and The Narrator in "The Girl in the Mirror". Some my favorite plays and musicals to watch are “My Fair Lady“, “Mary Poppins” and “The Phantom of the Opera“, and “Romeo and Juliet“. Shows I really want to see include Wicked and Billy Elliot. I also sing mostly Christian music I've sung for a wedding and some funerals, and sometimes write songs too.

Bargain Shopping is exhilirating.  There is nothing compared to the rush I experience as i haggle with a shopkeeper in a market over the price and worth of an object.  What is even better is the feeling of achievement as I leave the shop purchasing an object for a discounted price.  I love to but objects when I can set the price for them.  There are so many interesting object and trinkets that can be found at local flea markets and arts and crafts fairs where you can buy something cheaper than at Wal-mart or Walgreens.

I've loved writing my entire life and I've loved giving my opinion just about as long, so I figured blogging was the next natural direction in my journey.

So I have what I consider "the creative mind" and all the wonderful accolades I felt that included.  Then two years ago, I was caught completely off guard when i decided to go back to school for web programming of all things.  I was "forced" to take this Designing Databases class as part of the program.  It was then that I realized that not only did I understand the logic involved in designing and building databases...I actually enjoyed working with it!  I felt as if i were slipping over to the darkside.  Logic didn't seem quite so ill-logical anymore.

Trust me, you wouldn't minor in English, if you didn't enjoy the aspect of reading and writing to some extent.

In short? My main hobbies have everything to do with words and visuals.

Particularly, I love writing. Any kind of writing. Fiction writing is my favorite but I also love advertising copy-writing, editorial writing, news reporting, personal column writing, reviews, feature story writing, and creative non-fiction writing.

Yes, you could call me a nerd. Or you could call me to edit your term paper. Your choice.

And what sticks to writing like peanut butter to jelly? Reading of course. There is no better way to immerse yourself in a new experience and to explore worlds you've never seen. And its not hard work either. All you have to do is sit back with a comfortable pillow and enjoy the ride the author has rigged for you. What could be better?

Beyond the wonderful world of words, I also enjoy pictures. Taking pictures, drawing pictures, coloring pictures, and being in pictures, it doesn't matter to me! Pictures are an awesome tool of creative expression as well as a way to preserve memories. The only better way? Video! Which is something that I also enjoy dabbling in. Nothing is more fun than making a silly music video and then editing it to look authentic. (Youtube butler cc wannabe for an excellent example)

What better to compliment my love of visuals such as this than a little thing I like to call scrapbooking! That's right folks. I'm a scrapper. Paste those memories into creative layouts and you've got your own personal 'life' magazine. Yes, I will be that mom who goes insane over her child's scrapbooks, whenever I end up having them. My current baby, Gizmo the lovable puppy, has luckily gotten out of such cruelty!

Well, besides movie-watching, tv drama fanaticism, traveling, shopping, and recreational sports, I'd say you've been submitted to my most passionate past times. Hope it was as enjoyable for you as it was for me!

I love Scrabble and trivia.  Been playing
Scrabble for over 12 years and know more
than 100,000 words.  My favorite words are
HUIC, ZARF, BIGOS, LWEI, ZA and QI.
I wanted to try out for Jeopardy when they
came to the Gulfstream Casino in Hallandale
Beach,FL but I showed up on time instead
of 5 am; there was a massive line outside
so I losty chance to play.  I did try out
online but didn't do well at all.  Another
    time i guess.
