More that (!) 10 Great Gifts for a Swimming Pool Owner
It's never too early to get great gifts for a swimming pool owner
10 great gifts for a swimming pool owner came into being as I sit here during a cold winter day and dream of pool opening season. As the owner of an in ground swimming pool, I'm acutely aware of what makes great gifts for a swimming pool owner. and between opening my swimming pool, paying for the swimming pool chemicals, and closing the pool, I figure I spend about $1200 during the summer season. So, when a friend walks in with a new raft or a lounge chair for my swimming pool, I'm particularly grateful.
I've looked around the internet and have found some items which I think would be great additions to any swimming pool. All of these great gifts for a swimming pool owner work as well for those with in ground pools as for those with above ground pools.
Note: As this article has progressed throughout the years, I've added even more items so you'll find more than 10 great gifts for a swimming pool owner. Bookmark me and come back toward summer - there will be even more great ideas listed.

Pool chlorine dispensers and thermometers
I had a floating duck in my pool for many years - he (or she...) dispensed chlorine sticks or pucks so I never had to do anything but check the container once a week or so. This particular floating chlorine pool dispenser will take the large chlorine sticks of 3" or so - you can load it up with 7 chlorine sticks. And, the rate can be adjusted so it dispenses just the right amount of chlorine to your pool.
This duck pool chlorinator does double duty as a solar light at night - now, how cool (or, er, bright...) is that! These automative chlorine dispensers are a great gift for a swimming pool owner.

Swimming pool coolers!
NOW we're talkin'! Of course, these swimming pool coolers would be filled with sodas and waters for the tots (yeah, right) but, when they're all tuckered out, it's time to fill these floating coolers with some adult beverages and snacks. I love my swimming pool cooler and even keep my sun tan supplies in it:
The Kelysus Floating Cooler
John and I love to fill up this and attach it to the back of the boat when we hang out on floats. It never sinks, nor do the contents get waterlogged except for the melting ice. Kelysus Floating Cooler
Cup holders are numbered from 1-6 so, ostensibly, you'll remember which cocktail is yours. My favorite feature though is the zippered top - it seems to stay on much better than some other floating coolers with soft tops.
This floating cooler is very easy to clean, both inside and out as the bucket in the inside slides out for thorough cleaning.
Delight guest with flavored waters in any flavor you choose. I think watermelon and/or cucumber would be a great addition.
These infusion pitchers could even be filled with a very nice sangria - just add the fruit to the hollow middle container for the best results. It's also very easy to remove a few pieces of fruit for each and every wine glass.
Fruit will last for about a week as long as the liquid covers it in this infusion pitcher - otherwise, the fruit will spoil more quickly.
Note: make sure to hand wash fine plastics as these types of items can get hairline fractures/scratches if put in a dishwasher.
The water hammock
I have 3 of these and carry them back and forth between my swimming pool and John's boat, where we tie them to the back and float around the Chesapeake. They're great for a warm, sunny day.
These water hammocks fold up into a circle and actually can easily go back in their carrying bag for ease of transport.
10+ great gifts for a swimming pool owner - A Waterproof iPod shuffle
There's nothing better than plugging into my waterproof MP3 player and taking off for a few laps in the swimming pool. It just seems to make exercising in the pool much easier if I have music to listen to.
I love my waterproof iPod. I use it on land or in the sea.
Keep all of those pool rafts and toys picked up and put in a safe place
These poolside storage thingees are an excellent way to keep all of the pool accoutrements, including pool rafts, pool floats, and pool toys safe and in one place so they're ready for the next excursion into fun and sun.
