2010 FIFA World Cup Theme Song

Wavin' Flag by K'naan

Oh oh oh oh oh…

Give me Freedom (uh!), Give me fire (uh!)
Give me reason (uh!), Take me higher (uh!)
See the champions (uh!), Take the field now (uh!)
Unify us (uh!), make us feel proud (uh!)

In the streets our (uh!) hands are lifting(uh!)
As we lose (uh!) our inhibition(uh!)
Celebration (uh!), its around us(uh!)
Every nation (uh!), all around us (uh!)

Sing forever young,
Singing songs underneath the sun
Let’s rejoice in the beautiful game
And together, every end of the day

We all say
When I get older, I will be stronger
They’ll call me freedom, just like a wavin flag
And then it goes back, and then it goes back
And then it goes back , and then it goes …

When I get older, I will be stronger
They’ll call me freedom, just like a wavin flag
And then it goes back, and then it goes back
And then it goes back , and then it goes …

Oh oh oh oh oh…

And everybody will be singing it ….
And we all will be singing it …

Another version

Wavin' Flag (The Celebration Mix)
by K'naan

Album : Troubadour

When i get older, they’ll call me freedom
Just like a Waving Flag.

[Chorus]
When I get older, I will be stronger,
They’ll call me freedom, just like a Waving Flag,
And then it goes back, and then it goes back,
And then it goes back

Born to a throne, stronger than Rome
but Violent prone, poor people zone,
But it’s my home, all I have known,
Where I got grown, streets we would roam.
But out of the darkness, I came the farthest,
Among the hardest survival.
Learn from these streets, it can be bleak,
Except no defeat, surrender retreat,

So we struggling, fighting to eat and
We wondering when we’ll be free,
So we patiently wait, for that fateful day,
It’s not far away, so for now we say

[Chorus]

So many wars, settling scores,
Bringing us promises, leaving us poor,
I heard them say, love is the way,
Love is the answer, that’s what they say,
But look how they treat us, Make us believers,
We fight their battles, then they deceive us,
Try to control us, they couldn’t hold us,
Cause we just move forward like Buffalo Soldiers.

But we struggling, fighting to eat,
And we wondering, when we’ll be free
So we patiently wait, for that faithful day,
It’s not far away, but for now we say,

[Chorus] 2x

(Ohhhh Ohhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhh)
And everybody will be singing it
(Ohhhh Ohhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhh)
And you and I will be singing it
(Ohhhh Ohhhh Ohhhhh Ohhhh)
And we all will be singing it
(Ohhh Ohh Ohh Ohh)

[Chorus] 2x

When I get older, when I get older
I will be stronger, just like a Waving Flag,
Just like a Waving Flag, just like a Waving flag
Flag, flag, Just like a Waving Flag

I just love the lyrics and K'naan voice is make me so exciting about the game :) I think he's a talented singer. The 2010 FIFA World Cup will begin soon and although many said that England Soccer Team and Spain Soccer Team are the most powerful team this year, as an Asian, I really have a big hope for Asian Soccer Teams like Japan and Korea.

Keep the spirit of Fair Play !!

Please can some one help:

WHAT IS THE OFFICIAL 2010 WORLD CUP ANTHEM.

This website says it is 'wavin flag'.

Another says there are two theme songs and they are: 'Waka waka' and 'sign of victory'. Another website just says the theme song is WAKA.

I always thought that Waka Waka was the official anthem and wavin flag was just the south african teams song. I had never heard of 'sign of victory before' please can some one clear this up for me. Heres the link to another website that doesn't metion wavin flag as a theme song:
