EPL Legends - Didier Drogba a tribute to one of the best EPL players of all time

Didier is a great striker of the Football and so can be a deadball specialist.

Drogba performs well under pressure and has the mental steelyness to step up and take the penalty which could make him Hero or zero and more often than not he is the hero.

Picture above is the penalty which sealed the 2012 Champions League victory against Bayern Munich as Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer is sent the wrong way.

Drogba is a very strong player, this allows him to play upfront on his own because he is able to take down long balls and goal kicks and muscle off the defenders around him, holding the ball up well until his team mates can push up to support him.

Without this ability of Drogba, Chelsea would have been unable to play the Counter Attacking football styles they did against Barcelona and Bayern, where they defended heavily and relied on long balls to Drogba for him to fight for.

Drogba is also great as a defender at Corners, where he is left to attack the ball rather than pick up a man. He tracks back well and helps out his defense, which is a rare commodity for the striker.

Drogba is not one to shy away from the big stage, or be phased by the occasion.. if you need a goal you can almost guarentee this man will give everything he has to get you it.

Should Drogba sign a new Chelsea contract or leave on a high?

Didier Drogba has confirmed that he will be leaving Chelsea this summer to end his career at Chelsea on a high. He doesn't want to become a bit part player the club and fade away, this season AVB already began to use him in squad rotation, which perhaps gave him a taste for his future with Chelsea.

Great hub and very true, should have mentioned his record of 9 goals in 9 finals for Chelsea, that is very impressive!
