Another Milestone Win for Manny Pacquiao Against Shane Mosly

Updated on May 8, 2011

(Manny Pacquiao Versus Shane Mosly) Although Manny Pacquiao weight 5 pounds lighter and is about 2 and half inches shorter than his opponent Shane Mosly on their WBO Welterweight bout, the battle-scarred Filipino warrior is not short in heart and boxing savvy as he scored a rousing unanimous decision to keep his welterweight championship belt, pride and prestige intact.

With the win Pacquiao is expected to pocket at least $30 million (20 million from the fight purse and the rest will come from his pay per view buys, gate tickets, sale of merchandise and profits from closed circuit television).

A heavy favorite to win the much-anticipated match, the pound-for-pound king and winner of 8 world boxing titles in as many weight division, the 32 year old Pacquiao lived up to the expectation of coming out big in the fight. His body shots were crisp in all angles and his combinations truly put the outclassed the 39 year old Mosly out of his comfort zone.

Pacquiao once again leaned on his speed, punching power, series of combinations, footwork and endurance to hack out the lopsided win. The Filipino southpaw scored a one-sided 120-108, 120-107, 119-108 verdicts in the scorecards of the judges.

The sweet victory of Pacquiao raised his record slate to 53-3-2 (38 of the wins are by way of knockout) while Mosley limped to 46-7-1 (39 knockouts). Although Pacquiao was ranged against the big names in boxing is still unbeaten since 2005.

His throngs of followers especially in the Philippines was so elated with the win, though a knockout will be better and as their way of living was put into halt just to watch their boxing hero showcase his vast boxing skills.

Pacquiao's huge win against Mosly makes him the biggest draw in boxing these days and he no longer need a fight against Floyd Mayweather to clinch a blockbuster bout.
