Beautiful But Deadly - Female Fighters Who Could Hurt You

Beautiful But Deadly - Deadly Female Fighters Who Could Hurt You

I know this is a departure from my usual stand on female fighters.
I usually try to focus on women that are talented rather than just look good.

But I thought, why not for once do something that incorporates both?
So here are some women from the worlds of wrestling, boxing, martial arts and MMA that not only look good, but ARE good!
By the way, this list is in no particular order.

Sarah Ponce

Sarah Ponce
Sarah Ponce

Sarah Ponce is a fashion model and a swimsuit model. You may have seen her work in the Ujena swimsuit catalogs.
But this woman is a knockout in more ways than one.
She's not had kickboxing training, but training in Sanshou, a Chinese hand to hand combat, self-defense system, and combat sport.
Sarah is so good that she was a member of the USA Sanshou team at the 2008 Beijing Olympics.
And that's not all....she was the IKF Women’s Amateur IR U.S. Featherweight Champion, the USKBA Amateur Women’s San Da Lightweight International Champion, and WCL veteran with the Houston Enforcers.
She is a member of Team USA and competed at the 9th World Wushu Championships in Beijing, China.
Sarah was also a U.S. team member at the 2005 World Wushu Championships which took place in Vietnam.

Michelle Waterson

Michelle "The Karate Hottie" Waterson was born on January 6th, 1986 in Colorado Springs, Colorado.
She is trained in karate, muay thai and jiu jitsu and she made her MMA debut on February 16th, 2007 at Ring of Fire 28: Evolution with a win over Andrea Miller.
Her current MMA record is 13-4-0.
Michelle's last fight was a win over Angela Magana at UFC - The Ultimate Fighter 21 Finale on July 12th, 2015.
Michelle won the the third round via Submission from a Rear-Naked Choke.

Beth Phoenix

Beth Phoenix

I have sung the praises of Elizabeth Carolan (WWE Diva Beth Phoenix) in several articles and blogs, but the "Glamazon" really is a force to be reckoned with.
Besides being the first female varsity wrestler in her high school's history, she was the North-East Wrestling Women's Champion (72 kg weight class) in 1999 and also the New York State Fair Women's Champion (72 kg weight class) in the same year.
I know pro wrestling is scripted, but this lady's wrestling skill and raw power isn't.

Beth has retired from the WWE and is raising children with Adam Copeland aka Edge.

Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria, Tara)

Lisa Marie Varon (Victoria, Tara)

Lisa Marie Varon is a former IFBB Pro Fitness competitor, Ironwoman Tri-Fitness competitor, former WWE Diva (Victoria) and former TNA Knockout (Tara) who is looking to move into female MMA.
From what I have read, she has plunged head first into mixed martial art training (and Jiu Jitsu training), and if she can combine her mat skills and get a good striking game, this lady should be a force to contend with.

Franchesca Alcanter

Franchesca Alcanter

Female boxer Franchesca "The Chosen One" Alcanter was born on March 6th, 1973.
Franchesca once worked as a model and at one time was a Miss Hawaiian Tropic.
Her boxing record is 18-10-1.
Franchesca is also a WBFF Figure and Fitness competitor.

Mia St. John

Mia Rosales St. John was born on June 24th, 1967 in San Francisco, California.
She is a female professional boxer, female MMA fighter, model, author and Tae Kwon Do champion.
Her boxing record is 46-11-2, her last fight was a win over Tammy Franks on October 16th, 2010 in Bernalillo, New Mexico
To my knowledge she has only had one MMA fight, and that was a win over Rhonda Gallegos on January 26, 2008 in Honolulu, Hawaii.

Erin Toughill

Erin Toughill

Everyone knows about Gina Carano, but if she decides to stay in Hollywood, this young lady may be her natural successor.
Erin Young Toughill was born on June 13th, 1977 in Chicago, Illinois.
She is a female MMA fighter and boxer and former American Gladiator.
Erin made her boxing debut on September 27th 1999, at the at World Vale Tudo Championship 9 in Aruba.
Less than a year later, on July 20th, 2000, she made her first boxing match in Irvine, California.
Despite starting off slow (her first MMA fight was a draw and her first boxing match was a loss), Erin now has a 7-3-1 boxing record and a 10-2-1 MMA record.
Erin is one female fighter to keep an eye on.
Although her replacing Carano is a little "iffy" now since Erin hasn't fought since May 8th, 2009.

Michelle McCool

Michelle McCool
Michelle McCool

Beautiful blonde Michelle McCool is a WWE Diva that has held both the WWE Divas Championship and the WWE Women's Championship.
Okay, wrestling is staged, we all know that.
But you still have to be able to actually wrestle.
And Michelle has taken her training a bit further by going into Krav Maga.

Maryse

WWE Diva Maryse Ouellet was born on January 21st, 1983, in Montreal, Quebec, Canada.
Yeah I know that before wrestling, she was Miss Hawaiian Tropic Canada 2003.
But did you also know that at the age of twelve she won her first competition in Kyokushin karate and she has trained in judo and kickboxing as well?
Not just another pretty face.

Andy Nguyen-Hinton - MMA

Andy "The Crasian" Nguyen-Hinton is a female MMA fighter.
Andy seems to like to try out ring names.
She's been known as "The Crasian", "The Asian Persuasion" and "The Asian Sensation".
This five foot four, 105 pound fighter was born in Hollywood, lived in Los Angeles, and then moved to South Carolina as a teenager.

Thank you!

Like I said, I try to usually just focus on talented fighters, but what's wrong with acknowledging their other sides at time?

Thanks for reminding folks about Erin Toughill. Gina has had some setbacks of late, but she's still a force to be reckoned with. Her last fight also proved there is more than one MMA woman out there who can deliver a commercially viable presence!

Sabre,

If this posting is a departure from your normal vein of writing, then I applaude your choice.

It is a long-established fact, that a woman trained in a martial art (fighting art) can be most dangerous.

In "Bushido, The Soul of Japan" by Inazo Nitobe, the Samurai (wives and daughters of Samurai warriors) women of Japan were, indeed, trained in the martial arts of Jujutsu and way of the sword.

In the present time, a large percentage of the practioners of the Kendo, are women.

As a personal note, even though I am interested in watching women compete in wrestling; martial arts, and such. I dislike seeing a woman bruised and battered in such an undertaking. Unfortunately, this can be seen all too often in women veterans of female combat.

In my opinion, women are far from being the "weaker sex", because they can be just as deadly as any man.

Sincerely,

Michael Collins

Thank you for stopping by Michael.

What I meant by my "departure" was that usually I try not to focus on a fighters looks, just their skills.

I really don't want to see MMA or womens boxing go the WWE Diva route.

It's almost funny to believe any woman can outwrestle a male as long as the male is a real man, not some wimpy, non-athletic, underweight non-athlete.

I was born too late, because I would have loved to have wrestled Mildered Burke when she was challenging men to wrestle her during her 'circus era'. That wrestling match would have ended quickly and I would have been $100 richer.

Nice Hub!

Hey, this isn't fair.

Even if these babes didn't know how to fight, I'd let most of them claim victory on me any day! Ha-ha!

This was a good diversion...

I don't think I would mine a beat down from these ladies :))

I agree with Copywriter31, though I am sure these girls could take about 99% of men in the states in a fight.

I am sure they would hurt you too, if you pissed them off, make a quick move of their hips and ripoff your member :-)
