Big 12 Non Conference Matchups of 2011
Top 15 Big 12 Non Conference Games of 2011 Season
Last year the Big 12 finished second in there non conference games with record of (43-13). But now they will be coming into the season with only ten teams with the departure of Nebraska who had played in the last two Big 12 title games will be in the Big Ten. Also they lose Colorado to the Pac 12. So this year the Big 12 will not have a championship game putting more emphasis on some key non conference games this year since the Big 12 conference will be playing 9 conference games leaving them only three non conference games for each team. Last year the Big 12 came up with some big wins in there non conference games during the regular season. Oklahoma beat Florida State last year, Colorado beat Georgia with AJ Green, Nebraska beat Washington only but to lose to them in the Holiday Bowl in a rematch. Missouri beat Illinois as well. Texas Tech won there bowl game against Northwestern in Ticketcity Bowl. Also Oklahoma State beat Arizona in the Alamao Bowl. But it was a down year for Texas going (5-7) and not going to a bowl game but losing to UCLA in there only marquee non conference game that year. So like I said earlier the non conference matchups can be crucial now that the Big 12 does not have a championship game having played in a bcs championship game three since 2005 with Texas winning but they lost in 2008 to Florida beat Oklahoma and Alabama beat Texas in 2009. I have taken a look a each Big 12 team schedule chosing the top 15 non conference matchup of the season.

We already think that these teams should compete for championships: Alabama, Clemson, Florida State, Oklahoma, Michigan, Ohio State and LSU. But who will be taking that next step to contend.
