When it comes to being a part of nature you can't get any closer than an overnight canoe trip in the heart of the Rocky Mountains. The Bowron Lakes Canoe Circuit puts you in exactly that position.

Located in northern British Columbia the Bowron lakes circuit is a series of lakes that are reasonably close together and form a square so that you are able to start and finish in different lakes but still close to your vehicle.

This canoe circuit is a controlled circuit. This means that there is a fee for users, a short orientation film, designated camping sites, firewood, outhouses and people maintaining and patrolling the circuit. This in no way diminishes your experience.

As the traveler you know where the campsites are and you know there will be wood available. Your map also shows where there are shelters available and places to find help in emergencies. The portage trails are well maintained and you can use wheels to help move your gear.

I would recommend the Bowron Canoe Circuit for all skill levels. Just the fact that there are people whose job it is to make sure you are safe make this one of the best routes for beginners.

If you ever thought you would like to be one with nature then this is the trip for you.

Enjoy the photos of my trip around the Bowron canoe circuit.

Beautiful Hub. With a little more information it would be simply fantastic - just a bit for each picture.
