Could Barcelona Make History
Messi, Neymar and Suarez
Three names that over the past 18 month have struck fear into the minds and bodies of Europe's top powerhouses.
They became the most deadly trio in football club history last season scoring a combined 122 goals in all competitions. This form has been carried into the current season even with Messi only just coming back from a lengthy injury lay off. A continuation of this makes fans and pundits alike beg the question, can they defend the undefended?
Right now it looks very likely that the feat can be achieved. Only 3 clubs have only ever came truly close to defending their crown, Ajax in 95-96, Juventus in 96-97 and Manchester United in 08-09.
A triumphant night for Barcelona next may at the San Siro, Milan, could well see them labelled as the best club team of all time, possibly taking their own title from the Pep Guardiola era when they were near unstoppable.
After a brilliant display from Suarez in the Club World Cup semi finals where he scored a hat trick, he has already surpassed his goal scoring total for the whole of last season. Fellow South American Neymar leads the goal scoring in La Liga and Messi will undoubtedly be back to his best in no time.
With the trio all seemingly producing the goods again just like last season, don't be surprised to see the Catalan, or maybe Spanish flag flying high again come May 28th.
