Football Hubbers Network

ARE YOU A KEEN FOOTBALL BLOGGER? IF SO LEAVE A COMMENT BELOW, HIT THE 'END' KEY ON YOUR KEYBOARD TO BE INSTANTLY TAKEN TO THE COMMENTS SECTION

I think it would be a good idea to link and network all the key contributors of Football Hubs and create a more rounded view.

Those interested in forming a Mutually beneficial network of writers, who share each others hubs via Hubpages, Twitter and Facebook.

by Sharing each others hubs, we can ensure we extend their reach, currently we are making the snow shake, work together and we can make avalanches. The hardest part of any hubs progress is the first stage the more hits, likes and shares it gets, the more viral it becomes and its reach hits a multiplier effect each time.

Imagine we have several writers each sharing the same hub at the same time, focusing on 1 hub from each member a day, or the most relevant hub of the day that readers will find useful, we can then ensure it gets the initial spark it needs to start becoming viral (Its like jump starting a car by getting people to push it until you can get the engine going and it can become self sufficient) Hubs need the exact same help.

Any orchestrated hub promoting will be done through here and will only be done for relevant hubs that will be of benefit to potential readers.

I actually enjoy reading some other Football bloggers hub's too, so by having a network, i can quickly connect with people who are interested in the same things, without having to trawl high and low for them.

The Euro 2012 coverage was a success, with several users of the Network covering all Post match and Pre match analysis and tournament and Football musings in general.

ANYBODY INTERESTED IN THE NETWORK, COMMENT BELOW, NEW MEMBERS ALWAYS WELCOME.

This is the member list so far;

Tip: The best method to add people is;

Right click the links to each profile below

Select 'Open in new tab'

Go down the list opening new several new tabs for each you want to add

Then click each tab and click the green follow button

Close the tab entirely, no need to individually X the added confirmation window.

HOW DO I SHARE via HUBPAGES

HOW DO I SHARE via FACEBOOK AND TWITTER?

EARN MONEY BY SHARING HUBS

LEAVE A MESSAGE ONCE YOU'VE SHARED

VOTING UP/DOWN

The Benefit of Sharing Hubs

The Benefits of sharing are felt by BOTH the sharer and the person whose hub is being shared. Sharing the hubs of others will increase the traffic to your own page in addition to getting you 10% of the views from that page. Sharing can also be a quid pro pro situation, a share is likely to result in a Share back, Hubpages is all about the karma.

Here is a Hub which demonstrates the benefits 1 Hubber experienced from Sharing

http://jainismus.hubpages.com/hub/How-Traffic-to-My-Hubs-Boosted-by-Sharing-Hubs-of-Other-Writers

http://zsobig.hubpages.com/_kw4v2p8x2gse/hub/ways-how-you-can-support-your-favourite-hubbers

Below are stats from a hub of mine which was shared by Internpete, the traffic shows that he brought in a minimum of 50 viewers to my Hub, with his share alone. Sharing is just one simple click of a button and say if 10 people shared it, that'd be 500 views instantly. If we do this for each other, we can almost guarantee our new hubs get 500+ views from each other alone.

Pete had around 150 Hubpages followers around the point of this share, if Pete had 300 Hubpages followers, then it is likely that he will have brought 100 people to my page, the more followers you have, the greater an audience you have to click on your own hubs and the ones which you share...

THEREFORE MORE FOLLOWERS = MORE PEOPLE READING YOUR HUB WHICH YOU MAY HAVE PUT SOME HARD JOURNALISTIC WORK AND RESEARCH WRITING AND ALSO MORE MONEY VIA THE EARNING SCHEME ON HUBPAGES

WAYS TO INCREASE YOUR AUDIENCE/FOLLOWING

1. Add people with similar interests on Hubpages

2. Add people on Twitter with similar interests

3. Add people on Google+ with similar interests

4. Pin your articles to PinInterest using the button at the side of the page (You may need to make an account)

5. Share your hubs to your friends on Facebook

6. Share your hubs to groups on Facebook that have a similar interest to yours / Create your own group on Facebook

The Effect of Sharing (Petes Share)

How to get 200 Twitter followers in 10 minutes

on Twitter if you search for something; i searched for "MUFC" or "Manchester United" and then click 'People' in the top left, it will then display all the people who have MUFC in their profile and you dont have to click their profile first to get the follow button, the follow buttons are all in blue down the right, this way you can mass add hundreds of people in minutes, just go down the list adding people with simillar interests, added like 1000 in 10 mins work and then a certain percentage of them follow you back, definetly worth doing to build an audience.

Effectiveness of Google+ Shares

How to Build a Google+ Following

Google+ Explained

Ok so lets imagine i write a hub about Chelsea FC, i'm gonna want to share it with as many Chelsea FC Supporters are possible, these are the people inparticular, who will appreciate the Hub.

To do this, type in 'Chelsea FC' or 'A Chelsea players name' and it will bring up any article or status about Chelsea FC. On some of the articles, you will find comments from other Google+ users, you can generally assume that 90% of the commenters will support Chelsea FC themselves, therefore all you need to do is;

1. Hover over their username on the comment or like

2. Select Add

3. Then decide which group of your contacts you want to put them in (this is called circles). I custom made my circles to separate between Club Supporters.

Now any Status or Hub that you share, will automatically get sent to the members within your circle and their newsfeeds and the feeds of anyone who searches for the term Chelsea etc. This way it is quite possible to get around 1000 people in your circle, to share your hubs with.

DONT FORGET TO PLACE AD's ON YOUR HUBS

If it is appropriate, make sure to put EBAY and Amazon capsules on your hubs. I've witnessed greater success from the EBAY hub but i think there is potentially a greater income to be earned from Amazon but hard to earn with it, so that is reall your preference.

I have 100,000+ Page views, but only began to start placing ebay capsules in the few thousands hits since and have been making $1 a day just from the ebay capsules from 1-2k page views a day, i hate to think what i could have gotten from the 100,000k without ebay capsules.

Referral Trackers

These are a small piece of code thats placed into your links, which can then be used to identify where traffic has come from, it is a great way to measure the effectivity of shares. They will also ensure that you get your share of the impressions on that Hub.

You get money when people click on your ad's from Ebay/Amazon/Hubpages or Google Ads. So its very nice when somebody clicks on your ad's ;)

Havent noticed anybody sharing anybody's pages on the newsfeed so far, to feel the maximum effect, we need to be sharing via hubpages inparticular, as instructed above.

Personally ive seen some increase already but it can be much much more once we start sharing, above i have picked out probably the best or most current Football blog from each new person, which we should all share in turn, they should then recieve a massive spike in hits and you will also for refering them and ontop of that will get 9-12% of their hits

InternPete = 159

The more followers we get (Particulary Football ones), then the greater reach your articles have when you publish them, furthermore the more effective it is when you share others articles via hubpages.

Internpetes shares appear to be the most effective so far, which make sense since he has at least double everyone elses following.

look at the traffic ive recieved from Pete's shares inparticular

this is the stats from just ONE hub aswell, it only shows up when you click 'stats' in an inparticular hub, for some reason it doesnt show up on the traffic page.

http://img804.imageshack.us/img804/1536/petesshare...

50 Shares from Petes domain on this one hub alone, thats 50/270 hits, nearly 1/6th

This is the potential of the Sharing via hubpages button but as it stands, im not sure our shares are quite as useful as Pete's, hes tha man at the moment!

I refer you to my post above which tallies the number of following people have, Pete has at least 2x if not 40x the followers of all of us

Now thats not to say just go aggressively following people and asking for follows because Hubpages frowns on it and you could end up following loads of people who's hubs you have interest in reading, however it's a good idea to add as many people who already enjoy hubbing or talking about Football on here

Well, that's cool! I'm surprised that so many are coming from my subdomain. Just shows how valuable sharing good content is! My earnings for June were only about $16, but they picked up at the end when I started writing more football related hubs! I've already made $7 this month. Keep up the great work everyone!

Wonder how many people expected Torres to take the Golden Boot. Very happy for the Chelsea man.

internpete profile image

internpete 4 years ago from At the Beach in Florida

Stigies - Seriously! I think that was crazy that he got it, but so awesome for him. I really liked the 4th goal, when Torres could have taken the shot, but passed it back to Juan Mata to give him a goal.

CCahill profile image

If it wasnt already crazy enough that he scored the Goal to seal the champions league Semi vs Barcelona.. lol

$7 for just July!? :o

Like i say, mine was $15 for justApril, then a separate $28 orso May, $55 June and $4 after day 1 of July...

Its doubling every single month and especially since the formation of this group, keep doing what were doing, a real living can made of writing Football articles, living the dream?

Wow, you're earning way more than me!

I have just written what may be my last football hub for a while. It's called Stars of Euro 2012: http://hubpages.com/sports/Stars-of-Euro-2012...

It took me frigging ages to do this. I've included links to CCahill's quiz and Ben Cawleys team of the tournament hubs. Anyone else with general Euro 2012 hubs, let me know here and I'll set up a link.

I'd like to make this my main football hub, so any shares would be awesome. Cheers! - P.S. also any hubs you would like me to share, let me know here.

CCahill profile image

Early days for you yet Thomas,.... Signing off on Euro 2012 with a bang? nice hub mate, shared via Hubpages and Twitter

Richard-Murray 4 years ago

Stiggies as a chelsea supporter, I am only happy for Torres in a media sense, as the media focuses on trophy lifters. But, in terms of strategy and fitness and quality, I am not happy for Chelsea.

Torres has not proven he is in form by any stretch and showing me the golden boot for Euro 2012 means nothing. Goals against ireland and a ten man fatigued italy who have to go for goal is not a symbol of quality.

stiggies profile image

stiggies 4 years ago from Cape Town

Yeah you're probably right, but Torres did say a few months ago that he feels his form is returning and that he is playing some of the best football of his career. Even though his goals weren't against the most difficult of teams and situations, he did use his time on the pitch to great effect. I think a hub about Torres coming into the next season would be great. I might take a crack at it.

Richard-Murray 4 years ago

I will definitely share and chip in the commentary:) This season is a regrouping season, and have you seen corinthians in the copa libertadores. I see the final between corinthians and tp mazembe for the club world cup. I am serious. Chelsea to me, are going through a phase and something tells me they will not be as ready as they need to be. Corinthians look strong and TP Mazembe were disqualified last time, they would have won the CAF Champions League again hadn't they been but they are ready now.

stiggies profile image

stiggies 4 years ago from Cape Town

Seems like you know your clubs world wide very well. I have little knowledge of those clubs. One thing we have learned this season is that Chelsea can't be written off.

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

Yup same, i dunno where Richard finds the time to watch so many leagues ha

Thomas Swan profile image

Thomas Swan 4 years ago from New Zealand

Thanks CCahill. Certainly a bang with two hubs in two days, but I have to write a dissertation over the next few months, so I'm cutting back on everything else unfortunately.

Richard, stiggies, I'm no Chelsea fan, but I think they have a great chance next season. They've signed Marin and Hazard, giving them the width they craved last season, and some real creativity in midfield. With Ramires hitting his best form, alongside Essien/Mikel and Lampard, it might not matter who they have up front. However, I think Torres is past the worst of his bad form, and he might take well to having new faces beside him in the attacking line.

@Stiggies I love the beautiful game. I think as fans we all to often dont see the trends in other places. Spain and Barca are great in UEFA, but TP MAzembe has been as successful a story in CAF with Congo. And, I think South America gets a poor pass in the media but they are just as storied as UEFA. I love the beautiful game, any region, men and women.

In the same way DC United in concacaf and mls is regrouping right now. I am never amazed, all clubs and size rise and fall. I would advise you to look at ghana's national side. Spain's youth have been repeat winners of the youth CL, but Ghana has done the same in CAF.

@CCahill, insomnia

@Thomas Swan I am not so certain. Hazard at Lille didn't have to deal with the weekly athletic challenges of the EPL and I am not quite certain what Chelsea's style will be. At Lille he didn't play in a 433. If Chelsea maintain the 433 I will need to see. Chelsea have young players who can do this but I am just not certain. I will need to see them play in the first weeks to give my position towards them.

It's difficult to watch football leagues from around the world. I follow tennis, rugby and field hockey very closely along with European football and in particular Chelsea. Honestly Great Hub, i'd have been proud to write, if ya get time touch up the formatting; put all the headers to the sections like "Tackling" "Goalkeeping" in Bold, so each paragraph is easily definable and maybe 'Goalkeeping' is a confusing first Skill to start with, Cruyf turn might be a better first capsule for what people are expecting from the title of the hub, not to say dont have the goalkeeping one, just push it further down the list.

I'll share to the Facebook group again if ya can

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

wow 200 followers on Hubpages thats nice, i'd trade the HP followers for the Twitter followers anyday, on Twitter if you search for something; i searched for "MUFC" or "Manchester United" and then click 'People' in the top left, it will then display all the people who have MUFC in their profile and you dont have to click their profile first to get the follow button, the follow buttons are all in blue down the right, this way you can mass add hundreds of people in minutes, just go down the list adding people with simillar interests, added like 1000 in 10 mins work and then a certain percentage of them follow you back, definetly worth doing to build an audience.

I did exactly the same on Google+ and have 300+ followers there but Google+ is even better than Twitter, see the pic below if you get stuck Pete

Richard-Murray 4 years ago

Well it makes sense, Brazil has the 8th largest economy by some standards. So, it should have a stronger league with all the talent they produce.

I think what is interesting is how many non brazilians are playing in Brazil now. Brazil's system seems to be the let brazilian talent go everywhere, make money and connections, and now, keep some talent in Brazil but get alot of non brazilian south american talent.

Brazil is going to really dominate club football in conmebol soon. Venezuela, uruguay, chile, argentina, their top tiers are going to become pure feeders to brazil soon.

Listen if one does not write a summary of his hubs does it affect the views he receives or is it important that one writes the summary of his hubs?

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

Not 100% certain but i believe that Hubpages will Automatically generate one for you, but the one they generate might not be very good, its a good point because, as i believe its this summary that is used in Search engines etc, this one or two lines just might make the difference between making somebody click you link in a google results page or not doing. I probably should make more effort to write my own summaries

What do you other guys think?

internpete profile image

internpete 4 years ago from At the Beach in Florida

Yeah, writing a good summary is important. I do, sometimes, just use the first few sentences from my hub (which, like Cahill said, is what hubpages does if you don't write anything) but it it isn't grabbing, and doesn't include your keywords etc. you should consider writing a summary. Its just 2-3 sentences that describes what the hub is about.

Richard-Murray 4 years ago

summery is important, but being part of communities is key, primary

Nice one Pete.

I've added a new section in the intro to this Hub, it explains how to get a following on Google+, for me the most effective form of sharing

Here is a picture from when i shared mmsu's Hub earlier today, 7 like/shares and 11 comments all in the first hour

Very cool. I need to look into and start adding more people on Google+ and twitter. Good info on that. promoting hubs is probably just as important as writing them. If people don't know they are there, they won't read 'em!

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

Yeah i realized that you can absolutely bust a nutt writing the most amazing hub ever witnessed in the history of Hub making but if you only have 5 followers, it just may only get read by 5 people ;)

No point putting all your time and effort into something, if nobody is going to read it, thats why my biggest advice is..; BUILD YOUR FOLLOWING, something which you have clearly realized with your 200+ HP followers, i might be wrong here but i only try to guide people because, as far as i can tell, the $100 im due to hit this month, would appear to be above average within this group, so hopefully i can help others to learn how to reach it :)

sorry did not reply to you yesterday since my net was having problems all day, regarding you asking me about the followers increase since the sharing of hubs.Do you want to know my take on it or the figures?

Yeah please mmsu, just trying to measure current effectivity of sharing so far, it will always get more and more effective, the more followers each person here gets themselves but lets just see where were at so far.

Haha the moment Arsenal win the EPL, the whole Facebook group is ruined, it was really a stroke of luck getting admin there, the guy liked my hubs and said i could be admin and share my hubs there, to share to a 4200+ people at once was a HP dream :)

CCahill - (in reply to your earlier comment right after mine) Yeah, sometimes I see articles that are kind of poorly written, but because they are shared/promoted so well, lots of people read them (and thus the search engines rank them better). And the opposite is true. And yes, I think you would be an authority on making money on hp for this group. I am looking forward to a 50$ payout pretty soon, in another month or two, I will hopefully get up to $100!

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

I'm quite surprised at that Pete, that you are only just approaching $50 with such quality hubs and a 200+ following on HP. I guess we will just have to be patient on this one but im fairly certain that this group on the right tracks to becoming something which drives all our views and earnings up significantly month by month.

It has showed some signs of working and by all means has worked but it hasnt yet worked to the extent i planned for it to and this is simply because shares from people with only 1-20 followers, although helpful none the less, dont really bring great deals of traffic, thats why im heavily pushing people to increase their following, only then will we feel max potential

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

My Stats show an estimated 200+ views for others generated by my shares yesterday (Referal Trackers)

internpete profile image

internpete 4 years ago from At the Beach in Florida

Every little bit helps! But yeah, this group has a lot of good potential. I only got back into hubbing back in May or so, which is when I also signed up for the ad program etc. So I missed out on like 2 years of earnings. =( But my pageviews and earnings have been increasing every month since.

Most of the hubs I write have a lot of long term value. So I don't get many pageviews at first, but when search engines start ranking them better because of the SEO stuff I do, they get more and more traffic. Its a slow process tho.

I put more of my insight on my yahoo voice articles. I compartmentalize. that is why I put my feed which has my hubpages and yahoo voice articles

Team GB is definitely doing good so far, but that blue kit is poor. Addidas knows it will be bought up so they came up with the campiest kit idea.

Ah you should tottally drop a link to your Yahoo voice articles here Rich.

Ha yeah im not sure what i think about the Team GB kit, i mean i actually like it, but on the pitch it looks kinda crap, maybe it'd be a good training kit but if you think its camp then i guess what do you expect from a kit thats designed by a celebrity fashion designer :D

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

now 300+ views generated from my sharing referal trackers of JamesDurk and mmsu's articles the other day, its still increasing every day, i can only assume thats the work of Google+ because it doesnt neccasarily filter search results and feeds by Date, unlike twitter which is generally spammed outta existance within minutes.

I might spend some more time taking my 1400 Google+ following to 2000+ since its working so well, should only take 10 mins

mmsu profile image

Yes CCahill since you asked whether or not sharing of hubs have resulted in more views..i have got to tell you that they increased much more than the views which i was receiving previously.

Do any of you use Referral Trackers? I recommend you start setting some up, its a great way to measure how effective the shares of your own AND others hubs to Social Media sites. See the pic below

http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/307/mytrackers....

internpete profile image

internpete 4 years ago from At the Beach in Florida

Richard - I didn't get anything, where did you send this message?

CCahill - Yeah I use trackers as well. I have one for each of the social websites I share on such as facebook, twitter, digg, reddit, pinterest, stunbleupon, and a few others. I also have some for within the hub. I like the way you set yours up, it is good to have a system. Either way, I think it is very important to see which things you do are most beneficial. Reddit, for me, has brought a handful of views in.

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

Ah well if you say Reddit is good might have to try it, theres just so many lol, i've heard signing up to Yahoo Answers is good, just gotta get ranked high enough on it to gain the trust to start putting your hubs as responses to questions.

Talking of ranking, just reached Level 5 Commenter o/

Probably mainly cos of all comments i make on here lol

Ah yeah! i kept forgetting about PinInterest, it was better than i thought it'd be, did get a few people repinning my hubs.

Stumbleupon and Digg not really worth it then or?

internpete profile image

internpete 4 years ago from At the Beach in Florida

Lol, I've been lvl 4 commentator for forever!

I use social media sites like digg, reddit, stumbleupon etc., mostly for their SEO value,(a link to your hub from 5-10 social media sites helps get your hub higher in google) but sometimes I get a decent amount of traffic from them. Probably stumbleupon and reddit are two (besides facebook/twitter/google+) that would be worthwhile for everyone to take the time to work with. Stumbleupon is very easy to submit articles to, and I often get a few visitors in the first day or two. I have just started using reddit, and have gotten over 150 views to a couple hubs (based on my tracker). Digg, and the others, are more useful for links, but if you work with them, they can also bring in visitors.

So it depends how much you want to do with these sites. When I publish a hub, I then go though and ping it, submit it to google/bing, share it on digg, stumbleupon, twitter, reddit, pinterest, facebook, and whatever else I feel like doing.

Hope this gives you all some ideas!

mmsu profile image

mmsu 4 years ago from Pakistan

I have started to build up my following on google plus but is it really useful in increasing views?Which among all the social websites above is the most effective?

internpete profile image

internpete 4 years ago from At the Beach in Florida

Well, it is hard for me to pick just one to suggest. Different people have different successes with each of the sites I mentioned (and there are many others out there) So I would suggest you test them out, and see for yourself. It only takes me maybe 30 second max to submit a link to my hub, so within a few minutes I can share my hubs on 8 different websites. With SEO, the more the better!

mmsu check my tracker screenshot, ive had 600+ referals to your Man Utd hub and Jamesdurk94's Borini hub and maybe 1 other within the last 4 days orso all from Google+ i think, personally i think Google+ is the best, ive also heard that articles with +1's on Google+ get better SEO (Search Engine Optimisation) especially on Google because they want to get Google+ popular and to take off, so they use ranking stuff higher in their engine as an incentive for people to start using Google+

Ah cheers Pete, yeah thats kinda helpful, didnt really know about stumbleupon, reckon ill sign up to em all, like you say, only takes like 30 secs to share a link, better to buy several lottery tickets than just one

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

exactly 1 week ago, i posted a screencapture of my Referal tracker page

http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/1474/reftrackr....

This can now be compared to todays tracker page, so we can see how effective shares are over 1 week (Note that these shares only include Google plus and Twitter shares, as Pin interest and Hubpages sharing doesnt get tracked by the ref trackers, so the end figure is in reality maybe double this tracker stats for sharing)

1 week later and my Tracker called 'Freferal', is 300+ views higher, this means i brought 300 views to members of the Football Hubbers network from just Google Plus and Twitter shares and an all time 1478 viewers brought into the hubs of others in this group through my shares.

http://img507.imageshack.us/img507/7089/reftrackau...

Also you may see that since 7 days ago i have created new trackers, as is demonstrated here http://img819.imageshack.us/img819/307/mytrackers.... because my freferal tracker good as it may be, at establishing HOW MANY views have been brought in, it doesn't tell us to which hubs or hubbers in particular, so i have since made a new tracker for each person in this group, so i can see exactly how many people i have brought to individual hubbers.

You may also notice that one of my Twitter shares has brought about a new member to Hubpages, somebody who clicked it on Twitter decided to make an account themselves and so that person becomes my referal and i will get 10% of hubpages cut of their earnings that they get for any future hubs they may write.

From sharing the hubs this week, it has generated 264 people from Google Plus and 27 People from Twitter, this also tells us that Google Plus is the most effective share but this might be explained by the fact my Google Plus gets shared to 1777 people in my Circle but my Twitter only gets shared to around 303 followers, so you could say its proportionate.

Sharing Durkins Torres Hub = 12 viewers so far from Google+ and Twitter

Sharing Thomas Swans Hated Players hub = 32 viewers so far

JamesDurkins Liverpool season preview = Part of the 264 views brought in under the "opgp" and "optwit"

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

Oah's 5 reasons arsenal can win hub = Part of the 'opgp' ref tracker which brought 264 people

p.s OPGP stands for Other People's Hubs on Google Plus

Petes MLS allstar beating Chelsea = Under the 1400+ brought from the freferal tracker

James Durks borini hub = under the 'freferal' tracker also

mmsu's why man utd are successful = under the 'freferal' tracker

Cal94's Class of 92 and Best england striker poll hubs = under freferal tracker

CONCLUSION

------------------------------

Therefore rough calculations say that the 1478 people brought in by the sharing of 6 hubs from 5 people in the Football hubbers network, equals roughly 250 views to each hub from sharing via Google+ and Twitter

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

I understand that might be a little long complicated and boring to read lol

So the long and short of it is;

The sharing of Hubs should bring 250+ traffic from each share of a hub, if shared to a big following on Google Plus, The shares on Google Plus dont just have instant effect, they continue to bring in people day after day, week after week, unlike other sharing methods which just bring a sudden temporary influx of views.

If 1 person can bring you 250 views to your hubs, think what the sharing of 16 people in this group could do and then imagine we double our followings (as we all already have) once again. you could be looking at 500 views x 16 people... Thats just the potential of it, whether we reach that, will be down to the effort put in.

internpete profile image

internpete 4 years ago from At the Beach in Florida

Wow, impressive! Yes, you have certainly outlined the power of a group sharing hubs. My best place to share hubs seems to be on hubpages (235 followers or so) but unfortunately you can't track that. I have been having some good success with reddit, so that might be useful.

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

Yeah indeed, the trackers wont track it, only way to track it, is the other person checking their traffic stats, like i did for your share before

http://s1.hubimg.com/u/6921708_f520.jpg

50 hits from 1 Hubpages Shares from you just shows how effective those 235 hubpage followers are, thats nearly 25% of your following checking it, infact im sure at the time you had less than 200 followers also.

@CCahill,

well, USA are where the media and money wants them. Japan have lived up to expectations.

They are a little slower and I worry about Japan in terms of scoring goals. They didn't have the speed to really catch France in the run of play, that is very important.

Remember, the FA WSL is still on, I am hoping Chelsea ladies can get at least 2nd I think Arsenal ladies, DAMN THEM , will get another trophy.

@internpete,

USA got the old money ball. That third goal was a travesty.

@mmsu, that is not true, I share all the hubs I comment on through twitter.

I need to make some changes and then I will start sharing direct on G+.

LEs BLeues leaves the olympics without a medal. On to the Euro 2013:) Allez Les Bleues!!

mmsu

hey remmeber to post your stuff on G+ and I will share it there okay:)

CCahill

France is from my childhood. The national team I loved with Henry ZIdane and the gang, and they started me really learning about the sport, not just playing in the streets and parks. And it has never ebbed. Love french soccer.

As for Chelsea, well even though I loved Henry, I was neutral in the EPL. But a friend liked Chelsea and I looked at the teams and it was the team I most wanted to play on. I loved their defensive grit and style and have been a fan since

World cup 98? they became my team once England got eliminated :)

Richard-Murray 4 years ago

:) Euro 96 I was amazed during 98 at what they did, the first national side i ever saw was brazil and I could have swore brazil was going to win it all. I will not deny I am a fan of Brazil as well. Soccer allows such global fandoms:) Brazil, France my favorites in conmebol and uefa respectively. I dont have a favorite in CONCACAF or AFC truthfully. On the national side I am caught between Ghana and Ivory Coast. I like Ghana's development better, but I like the total talent on Ivory Coast. On the club side I am for TP MAzembe. Their performance in the last club world cup was the best of any side against Conmebol and uefa sides I ever saw.

Thanks for mentioning the new profiles. I've had a go at making one. It's really easy to set up and allows you to feature your best articles as well as providing proper links for your twitter, g+, personal website, etc.

I think you can try it by going to the profile of someone who already has it, and clicking on the link that will be provided there. So you can probably do it from my profile if you like!

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

@ mmsu it might worth typing Ussain Bolt and Lebron etc into Google Plus and getting some fans into your circles, they are so popular worldwide

CCahill profile image

No worries Thomas, good to see your managing to just about keep up with the notifications :)

i decided to switch to the new profile, since Hubpages say they will roll it out for everyone soon enough anyway and when it asks to highlight 6 of yours hubs, i chose one which doesn't any exposure at all anymore and immediately within 1 minute it got a comment, which was very odd.

The New profile definitely seems better.

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

An interesting feature of the new profile page is that it not only displays how many people are following you, but also how many people YOU are following, which the old one did not.

From this i can see that i have 1 follower to every 2 people that i follow. Thats a 1:2 ratio.

Whereas alot of people with much less followers seem to have a 1:1 ratio or even 0.5:1.0 ratio, the amount of people you add, the more likely they will be to add you back, i've just started adding anybody who comments on any Football based Hub now.

Liberum profile image

Liberum 4 years ago

Watched Arsenal - Sunderland game. Surprised with performance of Gervinho, a bit disappointed about Podolski. Giroud played less but looked a bit better than German. Slow start but I think this squad could bring a very exciting games after they will improve their communication on pitch.

DannyHurst profile image

DannyHurst 4 years ago from Manchester, UK

Pretty exciting start to the season right guys? Two 5-0's, and United, City and Chelsea still to come!

I agree @Liberum,I think Arsenal will be ok with the strikers they have, I had a feeling it was going to be one of those games for them yesterday, they do seem to have those games at home where they can't find the breakthrough but 3rd position is realistic for him, but no higher I'm afraid. And now Song's gone!

Richard-Murray 4 years ago

Podolski isn't RVP, and him and Giroud are not pacey like RVP and Henry. The absence of Song was more telling, Arsenal were weak in front of the back.

Once again Torres proves my point, he doesn't fit as goal scorer on Chelsea. but, his role is now to keep backlines honest.

http://richard-murray.hubpages.com/hub/Chelsea-wee...

mmsu profile image

mmsu 4 years ago from Pakistan

As for torres he is improving but again i will repeat he is not at the right club!

As for Arsenal and their first match Santi was amazing, everything went through him,Arteta tidy as always. But Arsenal does not have a proper center forward without Rvp and Wenger needs to get a forward.

Song's loss can be coped as we have a lot of midfielders but will still need a defensive one in terms of M'villa or lucas Biligia.

Like always Arsenal dominated at home but were frustrated by the away side's eleven men behind the ball technique, which often last season Rvp popped up to get three points.

Will hope-fully be better in the future but a forward and a midfielder required now!

I hadn't been reading or writing any football related hubs in recent weeks but i have just been reading /commenting/sharing a few and i will try and look at a lot more new hubs/hubbers soon.

I put on my latest football hub a few days ago about the history of the premier league. If anyone wants to have a look that would be great!

Just a quick reminder to the Fantasy League players. many of you have Aguero in your teams you need to check if your automatic substitutes are suitable replacements. If not dive in for a transfer to help you out.

Great to see ya still finding time for an occasional hub James!

Good idea Cahill, looks like everyone has been gaining followers, which is good! mmsu really gained a lot! I find the best strategy is to follow a few people every day, and I usually try to comment on their hubs because people will often comment back, and then follow back.

Keep up the good work everyone!

mmsu profile image

Pete you're right everyone is gaining quite a lot of followers lately. The thing is i am even surprised to see my dramatic increase, because although i do follow people with having similar interests to mine,i found that many just follow you like that.although you're right if you comment on peoples hub which you like and follow people many tend to follow you back!

Wait what!? 2nd game? Did Chelsea have a midweek game orso? i just assumed all teams played this weekend

Oh wait wtf!? Chelsea and Reading had 2 games in Gameweek 1 and still have a game in Gameweek 2 :/

and the worst part of it all is... i dont have a single Chelsea or Reading player in my Fantasy league team -_-

internpete profile image

internpete 4 years ago from At the Beach in Florida

Yeah, I'm not off to the best start in Fantasy league either. It is tricky trying to keep track of what teams have multiple games and which players might be out.

edmob1 profile image

edmob1 4 years ago from United Kingdom

CC and IP you should be able to see quite clearly where teams have rescheduled matches such as Chelsea/Reading on Tuesday. When the UEFA draws are made give it a day or so and Barclays Fantasy League should update. As for player availability check it any day and it will give you a yellow or red box next to any of your players to indicate doubtful or out for X amount of time.

mmsu profile image

mmsu 4 years ago from Pakistan

Yes CCahill when you are finalizing your team, you should have a look at the fixtures. One more tip is that even if a team has two fixtures and you pick players from their team, the next week when you don't want too many players from that team and you took them for scoring points,it might cost you in the long run.The only thing then left to do is play a wild-card but it is required a bit later and comes in handy at that time.Maybe those Chelsea players people took for the sake of two matches force-fully might not come in handy in the long run,cuz there will also a week where Chelsea won't be playing. So the conclusion is,every detail is to be looked at.

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

Cheers Ed, i often forget that fixtures are subject to change

mmsu, if i knew that tho, i would quite happily take some Chelsea players and Pogrebneyak from Reading :)

Good point tho, no point being stuck with a team you dont want just because on one week they had 2 games..

2 weeks ago, i setup a new set of Referal Trackers, to track how much traffic was being brought to each of you, from my shares on Google Plus and Twitter.

Here are the results, it seems to have slowed down a little since previously it was getting hundreds but still enough traffic brought in to justify doing it

Here are the Google Plus pages from the big clubs in the EPL.

In each group, down the right hand side, you will see a section called "Have them in groups", this means that somebody has followed that club, this usually means they are fans but even if they're not, they subscribe to information about that club.

This a great follower base for us on Hubpages, as this is potentially 2 million + soccer fans to share our articles to.

In order to share to them, you have to add them, click the following image to see how to do this.

http://img713.imageshack.us/img713/8804/chelseagoo...

You will be restricted to 200 adds a day, therefore 1400 in a week and 6000 in a month.

Here are my Circles so far;

http://img195.imageshack.us/img195/4052/circlesgp....

Having them in separated groups gives me a freedom to share some Hubs only amongst certain support groups and not others.

Google Plus

##########

I Began building up a decent size following from each main EPL team but i think i will now stop to focus on just one team now. (The one i support).

Here are my circles so far

http://img546.imageshack.us/img546/7599/ciiiww.jpg

################

For efficiency it might make sense if we stick to the teams which we support, i have shown before in a previous post how you can add 200 people a day who support your team too and these people are a potential audience for your hubs.

Say Pete decides to write a Hub about Manchestr United for a change, he can drop me the link and then i can send it to my large Manchester United fan base on Google Plus, people that he probably doesnt have himself.

If we continue to do this then we can ensure we cover a greater ground of people. I can write a hub on Arsenal and give it to mmsu or Oah to spam to their Arsenal circle on Google+.

This time next month we could each have a following of 6000 for the team which we support, the potential of that is massive, a certain percentage of that 6000 is guaranteed to click on your Hub, in theory make it interesting enough and all 6000 will.

It doesnt even need to be a hub directly accosiated to one club, the fact that we are likely to have different people on each others Google Plus because we have different supporters, means that we are reaching largers amounts of people

mmsu profile image

mmsu 4 years ago from Pakistan

@CCAhill

Very good ideas Cahill, and congrats on the payout. I should getting paid soon too.

Good ideas about Google plus and focusing on one team. Unfortunately for me, I don't really cheer for one team, I tend to cheer for certain players or just enjoy the games. But there are many here who are very loyal to their team, so I think this will work well.

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

Yeah you may still benefit from adding a varied range Pete, infact MLS teams might be useful for you or the MLS league a whole

I know Stiggies, Richard McCarthy and Nlazar will probably be best adding Chelsea Fans

mmsu and Oah for arsenal

Me and Danny Hurst for Man Utd

Marty for Newcastle

and maybe a few others, cant properly remember who everyone supports

I write Hub idea's when i'm bored at work and i have a list of things i considered writing about.

I have one;

"Ex Premierleague stars in the MLS League"

A summary and follow up on how they are doing... Beckham, Henry, Tim Cahill etc

I think i would rather Richard Murray or Pete wrote that tho, i reckon they could do a better job and i'd be interested in what they had to say.

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

Ha funny thought Stiggies, who knows, stranger things have grown from smaller and much more humble begginings..

internpete profile image

internpete 4 years ago from At the Beach in Florida

It is a good thought Cahill, I mentioned some of them in a hub about the best players in the MLS, but I didn't go into much detail. I am not as familiar with their pre-MLS performances besides that they were very god players!

CCahill profile image

CCahill 4 years ago from England Author

that probably wouldnt be important, most people know their EPL past anyway, its how their getting on now that i bet 90% of fans have no idea about, myself included.

Beckham and Henry are 2 of my favorite players EVER, used to love watching them in the EPL, havent gotten to hear much from them since though..

i don't know about that link, but I sometimes use wikimedia and flickr creative commons photos. They usually require you to cite the name of the photo taker, and a link back to the original. Just try to always cite pictures, although i don't always do.
