Golf Balls and Ronald McDonald Charities
Tartan Art Exhibit and Fundraiser
Five foot golf ball sculptures kept popping up along the sidewalk while I was walking along Michigan Ave. this past weekend. They are all part of the Magnificent Moments outdoor art exhibit and fundraising campaign for the 2012 Ryder Cup running from September 13 - October 10, 2012. The Ryder Cup is a biennial, international golf competition.
The combination of golf and art as a huge fundraiser is so exciting to see come together. Not only local but national artists painted the individual golf balls for this fun event. The balls are for sale and many have already been sold. The event benefits Ronald McDonald House Charities of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana as well as the Illinois PGA Foundation.
If your planning a visit to Chicago soon be sure to look for the wonderful golf balls found along Michigan Ave. Some side streets may have a few too.
