IPL V – Chennai Super Kings Vs Mumbai Indians

CSK – A Bunch Of Toddlers

CSK – A Bunch Of Toddlers

In T20 format of cricket, if a side sets its opponents a target of 113 runs to win, what do you call them? A bunch of inefficient toddlers who come to the playground only for time passing is the best description for such a team. Chennai Super Kings exactly did that when it played.

Murali Vijay Should Not Imitate The Style Of Subramaniam Badrinath

Murali Vijay is known for his aggressive style. Who can forget him and his match winning innings in the IPL IV final against Royal Challengers Bangalore? But now Murali Vijay played a subdued innings. He wasted the power play. Probably during Ranji Trophy matches, Subramaniam Badrinath would have advised him to change his style to a defensive play. Will Messi change his style if his captain advised him to do so? Murali Vijay will do well to follow his original style than to imitate Subramaniam Badrinath who is known for his stonewalling techniques which could find more usage in the Test brand than in the T20 or ODI brand of cricket.

Raina Played True To Himself

Suresh Raina played his true style and hit some excellent shots. But when Raina was out for 36, holing out a catch in the deep, nobody thought it would trigger a collapse. The CSK players collapsed like a pack of cards. Due credit should be given go the Mumbai Indians for putting up an excellent fielding and sharp bowling. Fielders gave their best and sweat to stop boundaries and they took all the catches that came their way. Dhoni was uncharacteristically run out.

Is Jadeja Worth $2 Million?

When Mumbai Indians batted, it was a mere formality to reach the small target in front of a disappointed crowd. Sachin Tendulkar enjoyed hitting the ball hard but had to retire to the pavilion due to dehydration. Levi is a worthy acquisition for the Mumbai Indians whereas Ravindra Jadeja, who was acquired by CSK at a cost of a whopping $2 million, disappointed everybody. He conceded maximum runs in his bowling and hit only three runs as a batsman. Srinivasan, the owner of CSK team should be cursing his decision now whereas Rita Ambani should be sitting pretty for her decision to acquire Levi who scored a fine half century at a strike rate of more than 140. But one match is not enough to judge the capacity of Jadeja. I hope he will rise to the occasion on Indian pitches in the coming matches.

CSK Has Begun Defending Themselves In The Worst Possible Manner

CSK has begun their defence of the title in a bad way. They should do some introspection and tone up their weaknesses. Otherwise Dhoni’s team will be the laughing stock in the IPL V tournament. Mumbai Indians have begun well. They should keep it up and play well in the remaining matches to win the title.
