Christmas Gifts: Kids Golf Club Sets

Updated on November 2, 2015

Junior Golf Clubs

If you have a child that is starting out in golf then maybe to start off with you can hire them a set of golf clubs from the course that you are playing. Although not all clubs have kids golf club sets, most of the smaller 9 hole or pitch and putt golf courses will have a small selection of golf clubs for kids.

However, if you think that your child is going to want to play golf a bit more often and they are showing a flair or even just enthusiasm for golf, then it might be worth thinking about buying them a set of golf clubs of their own.

You can buy a kids golf club sets for very reasonable prices and you don't have to spend a fortune. In fact if they play a few times a month it can be worth buying a set of childrens' golf clubs rather than hiring them.

Kids golf clubs also make a great Christmas present for the budding young Tiger Woods, Jordan Speith or Rory McIlroy.

Ages For Kids Golf Club Sets

Kids golf club sets tend to be grouped in ages from the youngest golfers at 3 and under, where the clubs and balls are usually plastic and no damage can be done to them or anything else, moving up to clubs for those in the 4 to 7 age group where they are just starting to hit the balls with real clubs, then moving on to an age group of approximately 8 to 12.

These age groups are not hard and fast and you can often also find clubs that span different ages. So it may well be worth picking a set of clubs where your child is in the lower end of the range so that they can use them for a few years. However, if you are too ambitious, buying a set of clubs that is too big for the child may put them off so it is a question of striking the right balance with their age and ability and you don't want to put them off before they have even started!

Check out below some of the kids golf club sets that I have picked out starting at the youngest age.

You can also often get left handed kids golf club sets if that is what you need and once they get a little bit older there are specific sets for girls or boys if you want a gender specific set.

Plenty of Golf Club Sets to Choose From

There are plenty of other golf club sets to choose from in various price ranges so it may depend on how seriously the child is taking playing golf or if it is just a bit of fun as to how much you pay for a set.

The smaller sets for the younger golfers start at around $50 but once you get to the older age groups and the more serious golfers with a set of clubs with a good range of clubs to choose from, you can be looking at around $200. However, it is not necessary to go this high if it is beyond your budget and there are plenty of great junior golf club sets with a good range of clubs at around the $90 range.

You can also pick up a set of junior golf clubs on eBay - whether they be new or used there are a lot to choose from and you can see just one of the available items listed below. Obviously you may be able to get quite a good bargain of some second hand clubs on eBay but you might find the prices are a bit better out of the Christmas or summer periods.
