A Beginners Guide To Fishing

So are you knew to the sport of fishing. If so let me run through the basic rules of fishing. Fishing involves your environment, you and other people around you. Be sure to be respectful all three. If you go to remote areas to fish bring back more trash than you take. Take along a couple of good strong garbage bags to pick up trash while your setting around waiting for a fish to bite. You'll feel good about it and the environment will sure thank you.

Never Be A Vandal Or Destroy Other Peoples Property.

Be responsible. Never cut branches off other peoples trees and don't let your children or grandchildren make a mess. Why not start with them early teaching them about the environment and why its important that we try to help keep our planet clean and green. Some of the best memories of mine as a child was when my Uncle would take me fishing. He taught me responsibility about my environment and respect for the fish we caught. We never kept more fish than we were going to eat. We always practiced catch and release.

Always Ask For Permission To Fish Before Fishing.

Many people will let you make a fishing trip to their farm pond but many people want their bass or larger catfish returned to their pond. Be sure you ask the pond owner if there's any fish they would like to be released if your lucky enough to catch them.

Do You Need A Fishing License Where You Live?

And be sure to check and see if you need a fishing license for your area. The responsible thing to do would be to obtain a copy of the fishing regulations for your area and read them. You will be happy later that you did the right thing and didn't get a ticket from the game warden like the guy on the other side of the pond did.

And believe me there is nothing like taking your child or grandchild fishing and let them catch their very first fish. I guarantee you that they will be excited and you will want to be sure to bring along a camera or camcorder to take that little fisherman's photo with.

Farm Ponds Are A Fun And Safe Place To Take Children Fishing.

And a farm pond is usually a safe place to take a youngster for their first fishing trip. And usually on most farm ponds the youngster should be able to catch a fish or even several fish. And I guarantee you that the kid or kids will remember that first fishing trip for a lifetime.

Fishing Trip Information And More

Every place you go to fish is going to be a little different so be sure you pay attention to what is going on around you. Always think safety first before anything else. If your going out on a boat on your fishing trip make sure you have all the life jackets and etc that you are required to have. And make sure that you and your guests wear their life jacket. If your going out on a large lake tell a family member or friend where you are going and when you will be back. That way if there is any kind of problem someone will come and check on you or alert authorities their may be a problem out on the water.

Make sure that you use care with hooks. Keep a pair of needle nose pliers and wire cutters in your tackle box. You can cut the end off an embedded fish hook and remove it much easier if you have good wire cutters with you. Always take a basic first aid kit with you when you go fishing. And don't forget mosquito repellent and sun block . Don't let mosquitoes or a bad sunburn ruin your fishing trip.

Once you start going fishing often think about the creature comforts that will make your fishing trip pleasurable. Things like folding chairs, towels and a good battery operated radio can really make your fishing trip so much more enjoyable. In time you will want a well stocked tackle box and if your going to be fishing a lot from creek or lake banks be sure to obtain some rod stands for your fishing trip. And most people will want a good fishing hat. Be sure to choose your fishing hat carefully. And good luck fishing on your next fishing trip.
