Manchester United's 13/14 Home Kit

Here are sneak peak images of the Manchester United Home kit which will replace the controversial Gingham 12-13 style, which didn't prove to be very popular, this kit reverts to a more sensible style and looks the business.

Manchester United will parade their 20th EPL trophy around the city of Manchester 13th May 2013, at the final destination captain Nemanja and Sir Alex Ferguson himself will address the crowd and The Courteeners will play "Your not 19 forever" live, in reference to the club moving up from 19 titles to 20.

Rooney could leave Manchester United

Speculation has increased that Wayne Rooney is after a transfer away from the club and will not decide to play on once Sir Alex Ferguson has retired, he already expressed his desire to leave the club the year before and it seems that his doubts have returned.

Ferguson Announced Retirement

Sir Alex Ferguson has announced his decision to retire at the end of the season and has identified this as the right time to hang up his boots, given that his team secured the EPL title with 4 games left to go and halted the rising blue moon in its wake.

Fergie has left a squad which is brimming with youth and one which he believes can provide the framework for the future manager to work from, Fergie has always desired to leave the squad and the organisation as a whole in the best shape he could.

Manchester United 1 - 2 Real Madrid

Manchester United bow out of the competition, after Luis Nani was unfairly dismissed, at a point in which Manchester United held a 1 - 0 lead in the fixture and away goal advantage in the round, however it was long before Real Madrid exploited the extra man, scoring two goals in quick succession, Vidic came close to scoring on two separate occasions from headers from corners but was ultimately denied by the Real Madrid stand in Goalkeeper, a late penalty shout for Manchester United was turned down, effectively kill the tie off completely, despite replays showing a clear obstruction in the Real Madrid penalty area, one thing is for sure, tonight was not Manchester United's night and the decisions of the turkish referee have left Sir Alex Ferguson fuming, as he sent Assistant manager Mike Phelan in his place to take the press conference.

Did Nani Deserve a Red Card?

See results

Nani is clearly watching the flight of the ball and attempting to bring it down under control, Arbeloa proceeds to intentionally run into the trajectory of Nani's foot, there is no intent from Nani to harm to player and shows intention only to control the ball, therefore it begs the question, exactly what is the distinction between raising a foot to control a ball and a foul, exactly where on the human anatomy and distance from the ground is the cut off point, because currently it seems that providing you put your body in the way of the players foot and the ball, you will win a foul everytime and potentially have the opponent red carded, if you dive and place your head infront of Strikers foot and the football as they line up for a shot, is THAT a freekick?, much more clarification is needed from FIFA but for now, once again a game is killed by the poor decisions of a referee..

Real Madrid 1 - 1 Man United

Welbeck and Ronaldo on the score sheet, it was almost inevitable that Cr7 would score against the club which he still loves and suitably only issued a muted celebration. Madrid were arguably the better team over the course of the 90 minutes but may consider themselves fortunate to end the game with 11 men, after receiving zero punishment for the foul on Evra in the second half, which denied a goal scoring opportunity.

Real Madrid must now score when they go to Old trafford, else they are out of the competition, a 1 - 1 draw at the Bernabeu can be seen as a victory in the eyes of SAF.

Fergie continues to pay tribute to Cr7 ahead of ECL Clash

Its hard to know whether its is just admiration and friendliness towards an old friend and colleague or whether Fergie is up to some of his classic mind games or even fluffing Cristiano's ego in order to help facilitate a future move back to Old Trafford, where is still widely loved, however he has recently been quoted as follows, suggesting that Cr7 is the best player Real Madrid have ever had, better than Figo and Zidane;

"Florentino Perez had all the Galacticos at Real Madrid when he was president first time around. He had Figo, Zidane, Robert Carlos, Raul in that spell. But I don't think any of those players were as good as Ronaldo.

"Zidane was a fantastic player. Figo was a fantastic player. But not as good as Ronaldo. So I think Mourinho's team are still living up to the reputation that Real Madrid can produce the top players.

"Ronaldo has beaten all the records there. He's beaten Di Stefano, Puskas, Hugo Sanchez. So obviously he is indelibly printed in their history now.

"You have to say he is pivotal to all they do - 179 goals in 178 matches tells its own story."

Solskjaer eyes Fergies Position

One of the names that frequently comes to the table when considering who will replace Sir Alex Ferguson at the Manchester United helm, IF he ever does leave, providing he isn't afterall immortal and ageless along with Ryan Giggs, old club Legend Ole Gunner Solskjaer is busy building up his CV ready to apply to fill his boots, with experience not only as a player but as Reserve and Youth team management at the club. He is currently taking the Norweigan league by storm as a Manager and appeared to recently reject a move to Aston Villa in the EPL, is it possible that he is holding out for Manchester United? Fergie will be sure to put in a good word but will he be able to fend off other perhaps higher profile managers.

"You never know. I feel at home in England and, although I am delighted here, one of those offers which are impossible to turn down could come along,”

“Maybe it sounds stupid, but to manage Manchester United is my dream. But look, I am not saying it is going to happen.

Rumor is that Manchester United are After Begovic

Increased rumors are spreading that Ferguson may have lost patience with David De Gea and is now looking in the market for a more ready made keeper in the form of Stoke City's Begovic.

Ferguson is likely to deny any rumors, as the window is now closed and he must look to show faith in his current Nr1 but rumors suggest that he may look to offload De Gea in and the summer as an abandoned project, this could all just be false speculation or maybe there is some truth to it and it will depend on his performance for the rest of the season, if United are to squander their impressive lead in the EPL this season, his competence will be surely brought into question. However it may not so much be a replacement for David De Gea, as relegating him to 2nd choice keeper, but this may leave Lindegard wondering what his role is for Manchester United.

13.12.12 - Vidic Returns

Nemanja Vidic is reportedly due to return from his knee injury. Manchester United have grown quite accustomed to living without arguably their Nr1 defender and some might suggest key player and captain Nemanja Vidic, his occlusion from the entire 11/12 season was surely costly to their title aspirations.

If there is anything that Manchester United need most right now, it is a tightening up in defence, no man is better than Neman and his return will be a welcome relief to manager and fans alike.

The knockout stages

Manchester United will either face; Real Madrid, Valencia, Celtic, Porto, AC Milan or Shakhtar Donetsk in the final 16.

Manchester United loose to Galatasaray in the ECL

Manchester United lost by 1 goal to nil in the European Champions League, vs Turkish team Galatasaray, however since Manchester United have already gained qualification in their previous fixture, Sir Alex Ferguson won't be loosing too much sleep and the young team that he fielded can't be faulted too greatly for the loss.

The greatest positive was seeing Phil Jones play the full 90 minutes, the Utility Defender/Midfielder has been injured all season and give Manchester United's perenial shortage of Central Defenders which has led to Michael Carrick playing at CB, which has proved to be very unstable. Fans and manager alike will be relieved to see this young prodigy return from injury, whats more he is more than capable of playing at Right Back, as he showed last season, this shall provide good cover to Rafael at RB, which should prevent SAF having to field Valencia at RB, who despite being capable of playing there, is undoubtably a much greater threat when he is terrorising the oppositions left wingbacks.

Norwich 1 - 0 Manchester Utd

Manchester United conceeded the top spot in the English Premier League to bitter rivals Manchester City, when they failed to score vs relegation battlers Norwich City, people would be forgiven for expect Manchester United to wipe the floor with them but it should also be noted that Norwich are now on a four game unbeaten run and have just scalped Arsenal FC previously. Robin Van Persie was barely in the game and the Manchester United players lacked real invention to thread the ball through the well drilled congested Norwich two banks of four. Ex Manchester United youth player Pilkington came back with a vengance to catch Manchester United on the counter attack and open the scoring.

Sir Alex Ferguson then made a couple of surprising substitutes, he took off Antonio Valencia and Javier Hernandez, arguably the two most threatening players in recent weeks and kept the evergreen Welsh midfielder Ryan Giggs on for the full 90 minutes, you have to wonder if it was the correct decision, given that Manchester United failed to ever really threaten Norwich and mount the comeback which has been evident in nearly every game so far and to which they have long since become renowned for being able to do.
