NFL Insider Week 11 Power Rankings

NFL Week 11 Power Rankings

Wow, what a week! When it was all said and done, I believe I missed five picks, the first time all year I missed more than two games. This has been a roller coaster of a season, with no team, apart from the Packers, really separating themselves from the crowd, and this week was no different.

We saw the Jets lose big to the Patriots, the Steelers jump from third place to first place in the North, and the Ravens fall to the Seahawks. That's right, I said the Seahawks! It's getting harder and harder each week to rank the 32 teams, but we analyzed all the teams and came up with a solid ranking list for week 11.

1
Green Bay Packers
Aaron Rodgers is invincible. I thought for sure Monday night would be a let down game, but it was quite the opposite. Will they ever lose a game?
2
San Francisco 49ers
Beating the Giants proved that this team is for real, and they now sit in position to earn the second seed and a first round bye. Harbaugh has to be the coach of the year.
3
Chicago Bears
Certainly the highest jumping team this week, they may be the hottest team in the league right now. The defense is playing great and the offense is clicking. Look out for this team down the stretch.
4
Houston Texans
Currently the number 1 seed in the AFC the Texans are on fire. Keep an eye on the offense though with Schaub being out for an indefinite period of time.
5
New York Giants
Even though they lost to the Niners, they played really well and are still a top tier team in the NFL. The Cowboys are now only a game back, but I don't see the Giants slipping up too much.
6
New Orleans Saints
It was hard for me to put this team here because they should have lost to the Falcons if it weren't for a dropped touchdown by Roddy White in the closing seconds. Nonetheless, they are figuring out how to win games.
7
Pittsburgh Steelers
Even though Baltimore has owned the Steelers, they find a way to beat everyone else in the league. They are still the defending AFC champs, so keep an eye on them.
8
New England Patriots
Just when it looked like the Patriots were falling apart, they go into New York and pound the Jets. The defense played much better, so we'll see if they can keep it up.
9
Baltimore Ravens
This is a team that can be as high as number 2 one week and play like a 25th ranked team the next. Flacco and that offense need to get it together. Cameron may lose his job after the season. Giving Rice the ball 7 times is not acceptable under any circumstances.
10
Dallas Cowboys
The Cowboys were left for dead by many, but the emergence of Demarco Murray has sparked the offense and Romo has played great during Murray's run. They are right back in the playoff hunt.
11
Atlanta Falcons
They should have beaten the Saints in regulation. I agree with Smith's call to go for it in OT. If you can't get a half yard with a 260 lb back, you don't deserve to win.
12
Cincinnati Bengals
It's unfortunate that A.J. Green got hurt, because the game may have went a little differently this weekend. They still played them tough and are in the playoff hunt.
13
New York Jets
What a disappointing loss this weekend at home to the Patriots. They have now been swept and give themselves very little chance at winning the division.
14
Oakland Raiders
Carson Palmer finally looked like he was getting the offense down. They have overcome adversity and injuries to take sole possession of first place in the west.
15
Buffalo Bills
I'm not sure what to think of this team. It doesn't appear that they can beat any playoff caliber teams. It will be interesting to see where they go from here.
16
Detroit Lions
They were embarrassed by the Bears this weekend. They have no running game to speak of and unless they find one they will not make the playoffs. Stafford can not throw the ball 63 times a game.
17
Tennessee Titans
The Titans are looking fairly decent and are still in the hunt for a playoff birth. It's an outside chance, but we'll see how they finish up.
18
Tampa Bay Buccaneers
Freeman looks like a rookie the last few weeks and the Buc's are falling deeper and deeper out of contention. Looks like they'll have to wait for next year.
19
San Diego Chargers
Eh, what do you say about this team? They are playing awful. Rivers has thrown a million interceptions and the defense is bad. They are still in the hunt, but it's going to be a long road ahead for Norv Turner and the boys.
20
Arizona Cardinals
A big win over the Eagles has this team at 3-6 and playing well under the helm of John Skelton. Kolb may find he has no job by the time he gets healthy.
21
Philadelphia Eagles
This team is bad. They've already lost six games and are out of playoff contention. Michael Vick has some broken ribs, DRC is in a walking boot, and DJax is a distraction that's been unproductive. Will Reid be able to keep his job?
22
Seattle Seahawks
Beating the Ravens moves them up the list this week. With the Niners already at 8 wins, it looks like they have the division all but wrapped up, but I like the Seahawks grit and not giving up on the season.
23
Denver Broncos
It hasn't been pretty, but Tebow has led the Broncos to a 3-1 record since he took over at QB. They are only a game back in the West, which makes this division...well, a mess!
24
Kansas City Chiefs
With Cassell possibly out for the season, this team has already experienced too many injuries to stay competitive.
25
Minnesota Vikings
With an extra week to prepare, the Vikings were a huge disappointment last night against the Packers. Ponder still looks like a decent young quarterback, but they ran into a red hot Packers team.
26
Jacksonville Jaguars
Beating the Colts doesn't say much. This team is very bad offensively. Gabbert has yet to throw 2 TD's in a game. They need some weapons, but it appears that next year will be there best shot, and they'll probably be without Del Rio.
27
Miami Dolphins
Winners of two in a row, the Dolphins are now playing their way out of the Luck race. They're finally playing like the team I thought they'd be all year.
28
Carolina Panthers
The Panthers came off a bye and were blown out by the Titans on Sunday. Cam is hurt, and didn't play real well. We have to remember this team only won 2 games last year. They'll get there.
29
Washington Redskins
There isn't much good to say about this team anymore. After starting off 3-0, they've dropped every game and have been awful. Injuries have plagued them all year and they are clearly out of the running for a playoff spot.
30
St Louis Rams
The Rams should have lost to the Browns this weekend, which puts them in this spot. They are not a good team, and Bradford is clearly not the QB he was last year.
31
Cleveland Browns
Pathetic offensively, they kicked four field goals last weekend, and a fifth one to win the game was missed because of a bad snap. It's almost impossible to watch them on offense. Here's looking ahead to next season.
32
Indianapolis Colts
The only winless team in the league, the Colts are BAD! Painter has been ineffective and the offense is horrid. It's clear they will have the first pick in the draft next year. Luck didn't look real great against a legitimate Oregon team, so we'll see what the team decides to do with that pick.

Some may disagree with you on the Chicago Bears, but I'm not one of those people. They are playing excellent football right now they are taking it to teams on both sides of the ball. They have come out of nowhere and gotten extremely hot. It's as if they are trying to raise the bar to compete with the Packers. I can't wait for those two to play again.

You are right. Since Martz changed the offense this team is rolling. They are playing as good as anyone right now all around.

It will be interesting to see what the Colt's do with the 1st round pick. There's been talk that Manning won't be in Indianapolis next year. Luck had a rough game against Oregon but he's still an NFL caliber QB, and I would bet that he'll be wearing a Colt's jersey next year.

Living in Indy, it scares me to think they'll take Luck. I haven't seen enough of him yet to agree with the pick, but I will at the combine. Taking a QB means you're risking the future of the franchise with that pick, so you have to be certain that this guy is the real deal. As for Manning, the only way he won't be back in Indy is if he's forced to retire. I don't think he'll have a problem mentoring Luck for a year or two. It's not a bad thing, just ask Aaron Rodgers. I'd settle for Tim Tebow over what we have here right now...lol

The 49ers, Giants, and Bears are three teams that don't get talked about enough when it comes to the great teams in the NFL right now. They aren't flashy, they don't have juggernaut offenses, but they do win football games. Great list.

Thanks! They are all three really good teams and don't get the credit they deserve, mainly because of the Packers.
