Surrey is known for its excellent fishing lakes, prodiminantly for the carp, but also for Perch. Surrey is home to some wonderful perch waters that hold some really big perch.

It is well known that not many fisherman target the smaller fish these days and tend to spend most of their efforts on catching the larger stuff. However a handful of people are still dedicated to the prospect of catching a huge perch. The perch is a without question, a unique fresh water fish. Perch are a predator fish but considerably smaller than the average pike. They have unique scalings and a sharp fin that can cut and even kill other fish. You will know if you have caught a perch that it is important to be carefull when handling and important to avoid being cut by the top fin. Luckily for us the perch can be found in fresh water lake venues and also in rivers up and down the country. Surrey is the home to some of the best perch in the country.

The current Perch Record in the UK stands at 5lb's and 9 ounches, but rumours are heard that bigger perch have been caught in Surrey itself.

Beaver Farm Fishery is the host to 8 wonderful lakes. They have a great selection of the smaller and more uncommon fish to target, including perch. If you like fishing for the smaller species and don't mind what you could get then this is the place for you.

 The River Thames - Surrey is an understated place to fish. The river has become much cleaner in the last few years and more fish are surviving here. The water contains less salt and perch can swim around freely and find themselves getting large as the water space allows them to. Who really knows how big the perch are in the Thames? but then who wouldn't bet on there being a British record perch or two in there....
