Ronaldoh's Greatest World Cup Winners 11- Argentina

Argentina's Greatest World Cup Winners

Argentina have lifted the World Cup twice. First on home soil in 1978 and in Mexico 1986, where they boasted the worlds best player Maradona.

Here I have chosen my best 11 players from their World Cup winning sides and despite only two triumphs, I have had to omit some fine players.

Argentina's Best

  1. Ubaldo Fillol.1978 winner and probably one of the best south American goalkeepers.
  2. Oscar Ruggeri. One of Argentina's best ever defenders, his nickname is the Big Headed One.
  3. Daniel Passerella.1978 skipper,The Great Captain missed 1986 finals due to illness.
  4. Alberto Tarantini. Wing back from the successful 1978 team.
  5. Osvaldo Ardiles.Skillful mid-fielder, later became a hero at Tottenham Hotspur.
  6. Jorge Burruchaga.Scored the winning goal in the 1986 final.
  7. Daniel Bertoni. The talented winger scored the third goal against Holland.
  8. Diego Maradona.
  9. Leopoldo Luque. The striker scored four goals in 1978.
  10. Mario Kempes.Crowd pleaser and Golden boot winner.
  11. Jorge Valdano. The Real Madrid player scored four times for the 1986 winners.

Well it would have to be Cesar Luis Menotti, the man who made it all possible for the troublesome 1978 campaign.

Well do you agree, please let me know.
