Running Tip - Shoelaces
Running shoe laces
Folks, I am not going to spend much time on this one. The most important thing you can do to become a competent runner, next to wearing the proper running shoes for your gait and foot strike, is to properly tie your shoes.
I don't care how you lace them up (use all the eyelets, half of them etc.) but for crying out loud, DOUBLE BOW the knot! There is nothing more stupid looking than a runner with untied shoes! The next most stupid looking thing is a runner stopping to tie them again...especially in a race! Did I forget the runner tripping and falling on his face?
DOUBLE BOW your laces always!!
To all the track coaches out there...kick the butts of your runners to create a significant emotional event if you catch them with untied shoes or single bow knots.
To all the runners out there who do DOUBLE BOW their laces...if you see a runner with untied shoes, tell them how stupid they look. If they don't like it don't worry, they probably won't be able to catch up to you to do anything about it anyway.
If you want to have some real fun, step on the untied laces of a runner as you pass along side!!!
