History of Street League Skateboarding

First Ever Professional League For Skaters!

Launched in the year 2010, Street League Skateboarding (SLS) is an international series of competitions for professional skateboarders.

SLS was founded by professional skateboarder and entrepreneur, Rob Dyrdek.

What he did was create an entirely new format for skateboarding competition and upped the prize money higher than any other skate contest in the history of skateboarding. In 2011 is was calculated to be approx. $1.6 million.

Winning the Super Crown and becoming the World Champion means winning $200,000 (USD) alongside a custom Nixon championship watch and ring.

There have been five Super Crown World Champions:

  1. Nyjah Huston
  2. Chris Cole
  3. Sean Malto

Your Reason Why

The biggest secret to becoming a Street League Champ, or accomplishing anything worthwhile in life, is knowing your reason WHY.

Why do you want what you want?

If your WHY isn't big enough, you want have the motivation to continue to pursue your dreams. It take a BIG why for you to press forward, training day after day, without losing sight of your end-result.

Most of us started skateboarding for fun. That was our reason for buying a skateboard. We would practice everyday, dealing with massive amounts of failure during the beginning stages, never giving up because of our WHY.

Having fun and enjoy the freedom of skateboarding is what keeps us on a skateboard. It's why continue to skate as adults, even while getting ridiculed by some for "still riding a skateboard".

We love to skate and we're proud!
