The Most Underrated NBA Players (3/5/10)

It's hard to choose "underrated" players when every aspect of the NBA (and sports in general) are put under a microscope. But, there are certain players that receive less attention than others despite their high productivity. Here are my five most underrated players:

5.) Baron Davis -- averaging 15.3 points, 8 assists and 3.5 rebounds per game. Despite being on the backside of his career, Davis still puts up solid numbers.  Although he plays in California, Kobe and the Lakers receive all the attention.

4.) Carlos Boozer -- averages 19.6 points and 11.1 rebounds per game. For some reason, Boozer doesn't receive as much attention as he should. If the Jazz weren't a contender, I wouldn't complain. But the Jazz are one of the few teams expected to rival the Lakers for the Western Conference title. And they have Boozer to thank.

3.) Danny Granger - averages 22.8 points, 5.7 rebounds and 2.5 three-pointers per game. Playing in Indiana and being injured for a good portion of the season won't help you get attention. Nonetheless, when Granger is healthy he is easily one of the best "up and coming" players in the NBA.

2.) Kevin Love - averages 15.1 points and 11.3 rebounds per game. Love was injured for the beginning portion of the season. If he has played in those games, he would be second in rebounds in the NBA... behind only Dwight Howard. This is his second year in the league and he is a generous 6'10''. Yes, somebody has to pile up stats on the Timberwolves but he also plays along Al Jefferson.

1.) David West - 61/62 games played.averages 18.3 points and 7.5 rebounds per game. West has played in 61 of 62 games this season. He is consistent, durable and receives little to no attention playing along one of the best guards in the NBA. West has been under the radar since his college days at Xavier where he was selected as the National Player of the Year.

I have not been keeping up with the NBA lately, and all

my friends and neighbors are Jazz fans.. I don't know what it is about the Jazz I don't like, maybe just the coach who always has his mouth hanging open looking like he is in shock over some call he disagrees with. I always liked Stockton and Malone, what a pair. Of course they also had an underrated play, Jeff Hornachek..
