A coach who believes the fundamentals of the game are essential. Blocking, tackling, discipline never go out of style. A coach who believes any team's success begins with the defense. Few coaches are of that nature in today's fast break football aka spread formations. A coach who believes hie is the dictator and his word is the law. I can only think of a handful of coaches like that. But, those coaches are successful.
A good coach is a person who builds relationships with their players and who builds their scheme around the potential they have. A coach has to sell their scheme and themselves to the players to earn their respect. A good coach is a commander but also a caring person who assures everything is ok with their players in the game as well as away from the game.

This question came up on ESPN radio/The Page today but failed to get any responses by callers for some reason. I thought it at least interesting enough to post the question here on HP. What's your guess and by which week (Week 1 through 17)?
