Who's number 1 in College Football?

The Alabama Crimson Tide served notice that despite loosing players to the NFL, they still remain firmly at the top of College Football's food chain by ripping right through the Michigan Wolverines...

IMO, Bama has to be number one with the way they slapped Michigan around.  I have to admit I was mildly stunned.  However, USC and LSU were both impressive in their wins and it might be tough to leapfrog them in the polls.  We'll see what Monday brings.

It's a long season, but Alabama sure looked fierce tonight.

USC Trojans loose to Stanford Cardinals! I really think pollster fell for all those 'ESPN informercials' and that led 'em to rank USC #1 in preseason AHEAD! of the National Champions Crimson Tide even though Trojans were just coming out 'Probation'

It's so hard to tell so far since most teams didn't really have much competition (except Bama of course.) I think USC will keep it's top ranking in next weeks poll.

    P.S. Hook 'em

Until someone knocks off an SEC team in the championship it's going to be the conference to beat.  So, right now after week one, Alabama looks like the best team.  Have to see how LSU, Arkansas, SC, and Georgia do later on down the road though.

A Crimson Tide Fan said to me today quote > "In the immortal words of Shaquille O'neal...as far I'm concerned...we're #1 'till somebody beats us!!!"

I am betting on USC.  Can't wait to see them play against the Oregon Ducks!

As impressive as Alabama was, I think it's crazy to even have polls this early in the season. A lot of teams are still shaking off the rust of the offseason so we won't really see a true separation until after week 4 or 5. Some of these teams started out playing FCS competition, so who knows how good they really are.
