    Does  Atlanta have any plans to celebrate next year's 100th. anniversary of the Miracle Braves?

    The Braves, then based in Boston, were in last place in July of 1914 during what was shaping up to be another dismal season for a ball club that had been  the dominant team of the late 1800s.  Suddenly everything clicked, and they began winning nearly every game from July right through September.  The Braves overcame a huge New York Giant lead,  to capture the National League Pennant.  In the World Series they beat Connie Mack's Philadelphia Athletics and became the only team in the almost 140 years of Major League  history to go from last in July to win a pennant and a World Series.

    I think they plan on winning the World Series to celebrate. They might do it this year just to practice for next year. Best record in the majors so far, although they lost a tough game last night.That lineup is very good.

    i used to follow the Braves real close when most of their games were nationally televised. But they had to go and change that several years back. If I still followed them closely, I'd probably have a better idea of what they are going to do to celebrate next year.

    Billrrr, it sounds like you watched a lot of those games way back then when the Braves went from first to last and won it all.

      You are right blackandgoldjack...I watched them in the 1940s and 50s when we had Warren Spahn and Sam 'The Jet' Jethroe.  I have written a series of five articles on the Miracle Braves.  Check 'em out.
