Hey ewking, sorry I wasn't able to get right back to you but what I suggest as far as pistol cleaning rods goes is to find a set of cleaning rods which are made of a durable material such as steel instead of aluminum, or some other material of lesser quality. Cleaning rods are pretty simple in design probably because they perform a pretty simple task. My preference stem from several incidents where a cleaning rod broke on me. Personally I would rather buy a high quality item once than to buy a cheap product that will most likely fail and cause me to have to make another purchase. As a matter of fact there is a cleaning rod which is made of brass and priced at $4.75 is pretty inexpensive. However, this is a standalone product meaning that you get the rod only! If you need solvents, oils patches etc. You may want to look into purchasing a complete gun cleaning kit. Thanks for you question and please feel free to ask any other question that you may have. In the mean time i will place a link to the brass rod I mentioned on the "How To Clean A 9mm Smith Wesson Hub"
