The Wisconsin Badgers scored 83 points today. Is that a NCAA record?
Not even close... I believe Georgia Tech scored either 223 or 227 points against Cumberland long ago... I read about this game when I was a child... pretty disgraceful actually...
While today 83 is impressive the game mentioned above from the NCAA finished in a 220 -0 walloping way back in 1916 on Oct. 7th. The Poet was right on with teams that played, but Georgia won. Also keep in mind that Cumberland had disbanded in 1915 but still had to play nigh a year later because of conference rules. Its in the "Sports Hall of Shame" book.
