If the winner of the NFC West has a losing record, should the NFL change the rules so that in the future, a team with a losing record cannot make the playoffs?
Absolutely, if a team from a division that can't even serve up one winning team is going to the playoffs, it is a dis-service to the league and all of the players.
Well, I don't think the NFL should change the rule mid-season, but, this will be two years in a row where the NFC West has produced a lackluster division winner able to host a playoff game.
I am a Green Bay Packers fan and there is a legitimate chance that they end up missing the playoffs with a 11-5 record while someone from the NFC West is in the playoffs with a 7-9 record.
I will be extremely irritated, but, you can't change the rules mid-season.
I agree with Bogerk. The rule will not be changed this year. This is an interesting question though because it seems like there is always one division that is a lot worse than the others, just never to the extent like this. I think maybe something they could change is make it to where the wildcard has the better record, then they get the home-game instead.
If a division winner has a losing record, they should default to the next team in the wild card race. You should also have to score a touchdown to win a game, and overtime should be switched to the college system...All would make the game more watchable.

In the NFC West, I think the 49ers have mainly improved with their head coach. I'm not sure that they've actually improved at other positions. I think they'll be close to the playoffs, but not quite make it.The Rams, and Seattle should be better this year - I suspect one of them will...

I think he should. Not only is he putting up career numbers this year, but he also led the Bulls to the best record in the Eastern Confernce; in spite of injuries to key players like Joakim Noah and Carlos Boozer during parts of the season. However, what are your thoughts? You...

In order to secure the AFCs No. 6 seed, the Jets have to beat the Dolphins in Miami and the Bengals have to lose to the Ravens in Cincinnati and the Titans must lose to the Texans in Houston and the Raiders must lose or tie the Chargers in Oakland or the Broncos must lose or tie the Chiefs in...
