Cheap Golf Courses Palm Springs

Cheap Golf Courses Palm Springs

Overview

Great golf at great prices makes for a great day on the greens. Palm Springs is home to some of the finest courses in California, and the good news is you don’t have to break the bank to enjoy four of them. These courses offer incredible rates year-round.

Escena Golf Club

This par-72, public course offers 18-holes playing over 7,200 yards from the back tees. Being a classic Nicklaus- designed course you’re provided with clear sightlines and expansive driving corridors. Set against the backdrop of the spectacular San JacintoMountains, with four sets of tees the layout provides a challenge with every stroke. Water features enhance not only the view, but give you strategic options for play. Undulating fairways are accented by tropical palm trees and banked by strategically placed bunkers. Check on-line or call for rates.

Indian Canyons Golf Resort

Surrounded by incredible mountain vistas, the resort offers unrivalled play on two 18-hole courses, the North and South. The par-72 North course is another William Bell design, playing over 6,943. As you roam among towering palms and olive trees of the canyon region of Palm Springs, you’ll be challenged by six water hazards. The most substantial-sized hazard is situated between holes 9 and 18 and home to the infamous Walt Disney fountain, shooting streams of water over 100-feet high. The par-72 South course was re-designed by Casey O’Callaghan in 2004 and plays over 6,582 yards featuring four gigantic lakes to challenge you on 6 of the 18-holes. Featuring long fairways and rambling greens the course highlights include five par-5 holes. The course also offers a 25-station driving range. For green fees visit their website.

Tahquitz Creek Golf Courses

Tahquitz offers two 18-hole layouts, each with its own distinct challenges. Ted Robinson Jr. designed the link-style Resort course, carefully blending desert characteristics with lush greens and long fairways. Play from four sets of tees over 6,705 yards on this 72-par course. The 50’s William Bell-designed Legends course, playing over 6,800 yards, has more than 40 bunkers and water features to challenge you’re game. With a combination of island fairways and rolling greens, experience golf at its best. Other amenities include a short-game area, two practice putting greens and a driving range. Check them out on-line or call for rates.

Mesquite Golf & Country Club

If you haven’t teed-off for awhile you can get back into the swing of things at the club’s driving range and grass practice green. The layout you’ll experience at this Bert Stamps-designed, public club is a mature 18-hole course playing over and around five lakes, a streambed and seven bridge spans. Laying in the shadows of the dramatic San Jacinto and Santa Rosa ranges a round of golf here will challenge your game as well as your senses. The club offers a driving range and putting green for your convenience. Visit them on-line or call for fees.

Time Frame

During peak season, between December and April, fees at these courses range between $60 and $100, but if you’re looking for an extreme bargain check them out from May through November when rates drop to between $20 and $50. Temperatures can reach as high as 110 degrees from mid-June through mid-September when the climate begins to be more tolerable. Sunrise and twilight hours during mid-September until late November are ideal times to hit the greens.

Carmen...I have played all these courses at one time or another during the 16 years I lived there...They are all beautiful courses and extremely well maintained...I wholly agree with your recommendations and add one more: Desert Willow, inexpensive and a lovely golf course with great dining...

There is another course that has been there since the 40's called Tommy Jacob's Bel Air Greens, an executive course that has year round greens fees in the high teens and low 20's...an excellent course to tune up your iron play before tackling the big boys...

Thanks for sharing this information with us...I'm wishing you and yours a happy and joyful holiday season...Larry

Nice informative hub Carmen. The courses look beautiful in the pics. Palm Springs is not far from LA where I have some golfing buddies ... will try to fit in some games there whenever one visits next.
