and the biggest thing that happened was the kid who seemed to feel it necessary to tell the world that he was choosing Cal over Oregon...much to the surprise of both schools who had never heard of him.
What has it come to that there's so much pressure on these kids that they feel like their high school years are a waste if they don't get recruited? Do you think that a lot of it has to do with the media hype?
These are just kids, fer crissakes.
(and, incidentally, why didn't the coaches, the AD, the local daily or his parents question this before it got to this point? Wouldn't they surely have known if a recruiter was scouting the kid?)
