Continuing to bash FSU (this time, the defense)

Christian Ponder had a solid season (14 TDs, 7 INTs), but what about 2008? 14 touchdowns (good), BUT 13 INTs (UGH!)

    As for the defense, well:

    1. "Players were OUT OF POSITION" (FUNDAMENTAL MISTAKE)

    2. "POOR TACKLING IN EVERY GAME" (DISGUSTING)

    3. "the secondary CONTINUALLY GAVE UP BIG PLAYS" (HORRIFIC)

When was the last time we were this negative about FSU? Not since the Chris Rix days. That's when B Bowden went into a hole and stuck with players who fumbled or threw into triple or quadruple coverage. THIS HAS EVERYTHING TO DO WITH REDSHIRTING. PEOPLE WITH TALENT AND POTENTIAL SHOULD GO OUT THERE AND PLAY. IF YOU SIT ON THE BENCH AS AN 18-YEAR-OLD FRESHMAN, YOU WILL BE RAW AS A 19-YEAR-OLD FRESHMAN. Offensive linemen may need to redshirt to gain size or whatever, but THERE IS NO EXCUSE for POOR TACKLING or THROWING INTO COVERAGE. Bobby Bowden's insistence on sticking with horrible or below average players (Chris Rix, Drew Weatherford, Xavier Lee and defenders who missed tackles) got him fired. Great job.
